Replying To Farneyblueandwhite:  "What about we forget about this match and go and beat donegal now that's a result and a statement ??"
And why could we not win both? Do we have to put limitations on ourselves? Win this evening and we'll be well tuned for Championship

Minors won the Ulster Division 3 league today beating Fermanagh by 4 in Clones. Who have they in championship? Any players standing out?

The reason is j mcguinnes has a team so well scrutinised that they have to be taken on the hop a poor performance from monaghan could lessen there awareness or you could as you say go all out this evening and win and give donegal a good rattle at the end it's only an opinion

Watching abroad.
Accomplished performance, and pulled away in style.
Well done all.

Very good win. This idea that you can pick and choose the games you want to win just doesn't make sense. No team with ambition does that. This was a national final. For Monaghan it's a trophy in the cabinet and a great feeling heading into the championship.
Think about how Roscommon feel now. All that good work getting promoted and then a big let down. I'm sure they'll pick themselves up but it's not a nice place to be.

Well deserved win. Only one team in it in the second half. Beggan is some weapon to have. (Kickouts and 2 pointers). Best of luck in the Ulster championship.

Replying To Eddie the Exile:  "Roscommon on their day are the 3rd best team in Connacht. Monaghan on theirs are 4th best in Ulster.
A titanic battle of mediocrity awaits."
Jesus Eddie, I'll take that level of mediocrity any day of the week. Well done us. Monaghan take a bow.

Good work?? We stumbled over the line and only for Meath and Cavan blowing it last Sunday we wouldn't be in Division 1. If anyone watched our last few games there is a very familiar trend, completely dying out of games with 20 minutes to go. Well done Monaghan, fully deserved win. Played a lovely brand of fast direct football. Some serious footballers there. Best of luck in Championship

Great game of football! Congratulations to the whole team and management. Promotion and Div 2 Champions! Brilliant start.

So much pace and running in the game suited us. It'll be a very different type of game against Derry/Donegal in Ulster, for sure. More similar to the way Down played, pushing up, pressurising, and bottling our runners. Either of those teams (although I expect Donegal) will be very physical and give a lot less breathing room to our forwards than the Rossies did. We seemed to be able to find so much space just by kick passing from one side of the pitch to the other. I suppose that goes to show the effort we were putting in running off the ball.

I thought we did a good job of chasing and not giving them space outside the 40. Although, a bit too much 'shepherding', Roscommon's shooting wasn't great today and let us off the hook at times.

Great energy to be taking into the championship. Huge performance needed in the quarter final now.

Immensely proud of the players after great league. Great performance in 2nd half last night. Dylan Byrne looks a proper find at the back. O Toole v good also. Gary Mohan huge for the team round the middle when he plays like he did. Credit to o hanlon also who despite roscommons best efforts fair and foul kept showing for the ball. Thought McEnespie and Bannigan were outstanding some engines. Jack did well when he came in but come bigger tests we will need a bit more inside. Mooney looks great prospect but pity Sean Jones with injuries etc hasn't kicked on in there. Has the potential but isn't getting the games unfortunately. Dessie Ward being back great to see. Beggan is just Beggan a serious weapon to have. All in all a good evenings work we will give whoever we met their fill of it.

Monaghan are back!! What a display. If they want to push for the ulster championship they will need to draft in a few drumhowan lads. I don't know how 3 of them aren't on the scene at the minute. They cruised the junior championship last year.

A very good win for monaghan even if roscommon did fade away badly in second half. Monaghan have a good panel of players and are very fast. They'll be happy with this league and it's great to see new players pushing on and bringing freshness to the team. Managment players and extended staff seem to working very well amongst each other which hadn't been the case last year. Championship will be interesting, is it a home game for monaghan in ulster?

A good win, never a bad time to lift some silverware. Something I admired was the reserved celebrations - this is a team and a county that wants to dine out at the top table and won't celebrate any less.

Think there's still some improvements that can be made to the team. O'Toole is an open gate at no.6 and Kieran Duffy would be great to slot in there. McCarville in the middle will hopefully be moved aside when Darren Hughes gets back into shape and then McNulty was poor again - I'd be looking at Karl O'Connell or Young Mooney to come in there to drive the thing on.

Still a wins a win and you can't fault the job Bannigan has done, he's picked up where Vinny left off and continued the good work. Onwards and upwards for the Farney!

It's the league april 19 ,20 is the acid test if we met roscommon later in a do or die battle there would be a point or 2 either way we have been here before and be shrewd enough to know the league is the league but championship is what counts can we become a proper championship team?
