Replying To jobber:  "I suspect some of these so called hurling fans are more concerned about the future of big ball and lose no opportunity to talk down our hurling team.We all see that this has been a difficult campaign but I suspect that no other aspiring county has had to face Clare,Limerick,Cork,Galway,Wexford,Laois,Kilkenny,Dublin,Galway,Wexford, and Antrim in a 15 week period. This emphasizes how important it is to have a top class underage coaching set up working year in year out.Clearly Offaly have an advantage so the board and coaching staff need to up their game."
Your footballers are in the bottom half of the football league pyramid. They finished 20th out of 32 counties. Your hurlers are your flagship team and should be treated as such.

We are a reasonably competitive dual county, some areas geographically strong in football and less in hurling. That's reality. Some nonsense posted here by certain posters re football.

Well done to CBS Mullingar u14 hurlers on a marvellous win in the Leinster Final over Wexford CBS. Last year's u14s lost the Leinster Final by a point to Enniscorthy! Great to see consistent improvement and success with the small ball in the school, competing and winning at this level. Super work being done, well done to all involved.

good news they beat Birr in the semi final so along with decent minor and under 20 teams perhaps our future in hurling than some believe.Hopefully some of our many injured can return for our last 2 senior games.

Next years county u20s and minors will be strong, and should make progress. Looking at county u14, u15 teams backboned by a lot of those cbs Mullingar lads, we look very good too.
It's so important that these lads get strong coaching and guidance all the way up, and don't lose too many players.

spot on the quality of coaching will be the key.Leinster need to give the 3 midland

We've already received significant funding so doubtful we'll get more and Offaly seem to be doing fine regardless. Too many lads content to be hurlers on the ditch.

Our underage is in decent shape at the moment and it will keep improving, what's concerning is how much we've fallen back at senior level compared to last year, already facing into a heavy beating down in Wexford. Killian Doyle hasn't featured in the championship at all so far either. It will be difficult to see us staying up vs Antrim, either way we need to build a new young senior team.. plenty of the u20s will step up.

That's it, heading home… At least we got a night away out of the fixture and that's the only positive from this game today. Hopefully Wexford make a raft of changes for the second half

I suspect you missed a remarkable turnaround. I walked away from the radio myself at half the and went out for a quick ball alley puck around. Caught the last minutes however...
