Congratulations Westmeath! A magnificent comeback win! I doubted you before the match and at halftime. I hope results go your way next week to retain Leinster status.

those of little faith in our magnificent wonderful hurlers who with such a small panel have faced 13 weeks of matches against the elite and still had the balls to produce this performance.

Ironically we traveled down yesterday with reasonable hopes that there was a result to be nabbed but in no way could have predicted it at half time, they were absolutely atrocious in the first half but credit where it's due, a phenomenal second half by all accounts and will have to picture it through other peoples accounts!

Well done. Couldn't actually believe my ears when I heard Joanne announce it at half time in Thurles.

Fair play. Westies always had a soft spot here since you were badly done by at the same time we were on upward trajectory and not long after you'd beaten us in championship.

I remember these days! Great one. Enjoy and best of luck next week.

Fair play to the Westmeath hurlers, showed plenty of fight to turn that around, deserved win. As a Wexford supporter, can't really say anything positive about our hurlers at the moment.

Congratulations to Westmeath. A wonderful win.

Now, if you're smart, you'll let Antrim take the win next week. Because it'll a) make it easier to stay up next year and b) serve as a wake up call to the "traditional" counties, who've looked down on the rest of us for so long.

Hard to credit what happened. We were deplorable in opening half, five points from frees, It was pathetic but strangely this helped us as Wexford got complacent and went for goals early in second half when easy points were for taking. They didn't get them with Darragh Egertons block seemingly insignificant at the time, Niall O Brien proved unmarkable and when Noel Conaty saved an average penalty the Wexford supporters got nervous. Niall Mitchell's first goal brought the tension up a level and by injury time there looked only one winner. Fantastic scenes at the end with players families and county board officers celebrating and rightly so. The home supporters were shell shocked. Egerton was outstanding, Mitchell caused havoc in fifteen mins and Ciaran Doyle kept scoreboard ticking over in second half

We have played Clare,Cork,Wexford,Limerick,Galway,Laois,Kilkenny,Dublin,Galway and Wexford in 12 weeks and still have to play Antrim next Sunday to survive in Mccarthy with our tiny squad picked from 15 hurling clubs 6 of them senior.I take my hat off to our players, management, board and hurling men who are all what our GAA is about.

Great, great result for Westmeath. Hard to know about next week. I'd definitely go for it, win and you are definitely safe, lose and you're safe on the head-to-head, PROVIDED Kilkenny beat Wexford!!!!! Do you trust Kilkenny that much? I wouldn't even though they need the win to reach the Leinster final. Do it for yourselves.

After that result, I'd be confident we will take Antrim in Mullingar next weekend. Will Killian Doyle be back? He is our main man and one of our marquee players.

Next year I'd love if we got back in Aonghus Clarke, Liam Varley, Josh Coll, David Hickey etc, we are playing without some of the best players in the county not involved.
If we get those back in and also add some of the u20s like Darragh McCormack, David O'Reilly, (David Williams and Peter Clarke already involved) we will be looking in good shape. Still think Joe Fortune is the man to guide us!

On today, a massive well done to absolutely everyone involved in a wonderful win!

Brilliant result for ye and well deserved Dheen! Hopefully today isn't not the top of the ladder for this team of yours but rather just another step up and the climb will continue!

Antrim won't be easy to beat next week.

They scored 1-26 v Wexford and drew with Dublin.

Very much a 50/50 game.
