Replying To Freethinker:  "U19 A final should be a cracker. These two teams have been nip and tuck from minor up for the last few years. Never much more than 1 pt between then- mostly for Eire Og. Still it should be a cracker. I tend towards a Roundwood victory - only just, and perhaps only one score between them again."
Apologies. I read that St Nicholas / Eire Og result wrongly. It's St Nicks and An Tochair in the final. It should still be a cracker and I would have lo lean towards St Nicholas in this one. I've heard great reports of them so far. With all this talent coming through it should be an interesting Leinster U20 in '23.

Think it has the potential to be a cracker. We know how good them An Tochar forwards are and the fact that they have proper u19s as well which can have a big difference at this grade. Conor Fee, Sheehan and Nolan.

Nicks not a bad forward line either with Sean Doyle, Joe Mills and Conor Manifold so I think we might be in for a cracking game of football as long as the weather plays ball.

Hi, does anyone know when and where this final is being played as i would love to go? An Tochar seniors were the best footballing side in this year's championship. I felt inexperience cost them against Baltinglass. They seem to have talented players coming through. Nicks have had good underage players equally; it is a bit surprising that Dunlavin were fighting relegation this year and Donard went back intermediate. If anyone know the details for the final, can you please post them as i would really appreciate the details.

It takes a while for young lads to come through particularly since minor went back to under 17. St Nicks won two minors in 2020 and 2021 and while some of these lads are featuring for bothe clubs (more so Donard) theres a big step up to senior. I'm sure we will see a lot more of them in years to come.
I'm actually convinced theres a senior championship in An Tochar. Unlike St Nicks they dont split their underage players between two clubs and are strong at every underage group now.
Are both the Nolans and Fees eligible for under 19?
The fixture isn't out yet but it will be posted in the fixtures section of the Wicklow GAA website which is relatively good for games results etc.

This Sunday? might head over too. What i heard was both semi finals went to extra time, which shows nothing between any of the teams in the semi finals, (Nicks, An tochair, eire og and blesso) hopefully the paper will have something in them to read about. It great to see a competitive championship, looks good for future championships. Not a great time of year to be playing football though.

I see the game has now been moved to 1pm but still in Aughrim, probably to allow for the freezing temperatures that we're due.

Anyone that was thinking of going to Aughrim, it's in Bray now.

Makes sense, I suppose, with the state of some of the ungritted minor roads.

Congrats to Bray Emmets on their victory in the Leinster Final. And hoping they can go further. Wouldn't it be great to see our county champions flexing their muscles against the top teams in Leinster next year ??

Yes i hope bray or tooreen go on and win it out now, it would be great to see a new team from a new county in the all Ireland senior next year.. I wasn't expecting a wicklow club to win leinster to b honest considering how far gone down the ladder the wicklow county hurlers have gone.. I had trim as favourites, Maybe this will boost the county now and give strongholds like glenealy, carnew, Avon Dale, kiltegan fresh desire to make hurling strong again.

Congratulations to Bray on their victory in the leinster final today. Great achievement, hope they can go on and win it out. This proves that there is hurling talent in the county; hopefully with casey installed as county mamager we can start to climb the hurling ladder as we have fallen off the pace in the province. For today, all the plaudits go to Bray Emmets.

Congrats to An Tochair on their victory. I thought it might be close, and it was. It seems as if they are learning how to win which if it keeps up will make that club serious contenders for major honours in the not too distant future. It was a good team display. That St Nicholas side has some top class young players too.

Attended bith finals. Horrendous weather. Tight in b final. Poor officiating nearly ruined it. Why can a full team of officials not be present at a final? A final was exciting. Plenty of good players on both sides. The west team collapsed. Some ver inconsistnet calls here. Thank God that day is over.

An Tochar are a club on the rise; I hope for the sake of football in the county that this rise continues especially in light of the fact that one of the powerhouse within the county over the last 25 years - Rathnew are not the power they were. It is important that the club scene has as many teams competing for honours as possible. I do believe that there are some good players in Wicklow but sadly with the way that football has evolved at intercounty level, good players are not enough any more. Physique, tacking and tactical awareness are higher than the basic skills which is a sad indictment on football at the highest level. It will be interesting to see Oisin McConville's approach to tactics and play in the NFL. Finally, I would like to commend Bray Emmets on their fine display yesterday in the All Ireland semi-final. I believe that their run in this competition proves that there is hurling talent in the county so hopefully Casey can get all the best players playing for the county and that the hurlers can start to rise back up the hurling ladder. There will always be negatives associated with gaelic games in Wicklow after all it is a tradition for as long as I can remember, just like Christmas. But there are some good young talent in the county and the county board have appointed two good managers in both hurling and football. Plus there is a financial investment, an investment I've never witness before. Hopefully 2023 will see both the footballers and hurlers make progress in their respective leagues and maybe even make a championship run.

Well done to Bray Emmets on a fine display yesterday, well capable of going all the way, just didn't have the luck in the end.

Also, I notice the minor hurlers are back in Leinster tier 2 for 2023. A real target for this group and we are well capable of putting it up to the other teams in this tier. A real shame that the minors didn't take part for the last few years.

The team is posted on the wicklow gaa twitter account. Disappointed to see no player from An Tochar in the match day squad: I was hoping that Conor Fee would be involved. There is surely a player off this season's An Tochar team deserving to be on the panel. Good to see Kevin Quinn back in action. Anyway, best of luck to all involved, tonight and for the year ahead. Hopefully Oisin can mould a team capable of competing for promotion.
