In the Bull last night talking about how great it was for Craig Lennon to get Louths only second all star and the subject came up of Louths best 15 players from the year 2000 up till now. Wee came up with this:

1. Neil Gallagher
2. Jamie Carr
3. Niall Sharkey
4. Donal Mc Kenny
5. Razor Finnegan
6. Jobser o Brien
7. Craig Lennon
8. Paddy Kennan (C)
9. Tommy Durnin
10. Andy Mc Donnell
11. Darren Clarke
12. Adrian Reid
13. Sam Mulroy
14. Shane Lennon
15. JP Rooney.

I think this team would be a match for any in the country if they were playing together. Ronan Carroll, Mick Fanning and Pops Rath were all considered but just failed to make the cut. 2 all stars, 4 others that were nominated, 10 Joe Ward winners and 11 clubs represented. What do you think?

Good team that. Martin Farrelly was a good player also along with Declan Byrne but hard to argue with your selection.

Great team Ollie. Each of them gave us lots of excitement. Baby Goss deserves a mention

Wonder will there be any new faces added to the senior panel for 2025?
If so who would you reckon deserves a run?

The word in the Bull is that six Blues players are called up including a recall for Andy Mc Donnell.

Strange sort of a story that. An LMFM article said that the management resigned, but Clarke had actually resigned a month ago. The executive was asked a week ago if Clarke had resigned and they said he hadn't. So either he had or he hadn't. That was very relevant information to for the clubs to know to influence their vote.

The LGFA chairman thanks the management and the backroom team. Was Hanlon not the manager and the other two boys part of the backroom team (coaches). Did everyone want to be a manager?

I understand this first became an issue in August. When the executive and the manager knew that no player wanted the manager back, why was it persisted with until now? In the history of the GAA / LGFA when no player has faith in the management, they walk for the greater good. It is not always a one way story, but they still go as to do otherwise is to set the game back in the county. Even in the extreme examples of Cork hurlers and Limerick hurlers the issue wasn't so stark, in the Cork case the dispute was with the county board, and in the Limerick case it wasn't unanimous across all the players. So fair play to Louth, they made history by being the first county board to back the manager against all the players.

The very best of luck to the Tones who are making their maiden journey in Leinster tomorrow. Also good luck to the Marys on Sunday.

Congratulations to three of our 2010 Leinster final team who are still going strong and won Junior A championship medals with St. Pats tonight in Darver. Paddy Keenan and the Finegan Brothers Ray and Dessie were outstanding in a well contested game with the Jocks.

A sub in the 2010 Leinster final Stephen Fitzpatrick refereed tonight's match but in fairness he did not give any favors to his former teammates

Why are Marys giving walkovers across the board in the U19 competition, and them after winning 2 out of last 3 minor championships??

they don't need these young lads for the leinster club championship

and will be the first to complain about losing players at underage. Even if they have young lads involved in first team, let the others play.

Big win for Ardee today , not many Louth club teams get to Leinster senior club finals . Louth football must definitely be edging upwards .

Well done Ardee. No club from Louth has won the Leinster senior club title. Only 5th final appearance after that win today. Other appearances Marrock Rangers in 2002, Cooley Kickhams in 1976,1973 and Newtown Blues in 1970

Well done to St Mary's Ardee. They have a great footballing tradition going back for centuries. A final is never easily won but you certainly won't win if you're not there. Hopefully the occasion doesn't get to them and that each and every one of their players leave everything on the pitch.
On another note, correct me if I'm wrong on this but weren't the semifinals of the last two, at least, Leinster Senior Championships played in Croke Park? Why the change this year?
One step forward followed by two backward.
