Replying To Ollie2:  "That's correct and right and two counties that Louth never played in the Championship before."
Ollie, are you sure that we can't play both Dublin and Kerry? We played Dublin in Leinster but we didn't play them in the Sam Maguire. Are you limited to the teams you played in both Leinster and the Sam Maguire or are you just confined to the teams you played in the Sam Maguire?

Once you play a team in your province or in the group stage of the Sam Maguire you cannot play them again unless it's in an All Ireland final.

Replying To Ollie01:  "Is the cork game in Inniskeen. its a great grounds it really suits us the way its so wide and it's only over the road from must of us."
Also there is loads of parking around the football pitch so dont need to park in Inniskeen village. You can pay cash at gate in.

A question lads- are Louth supporters happy with the championship format over the last coupe of seasons?

In my view anyway Louth are one of the best examples of a county benefitting from more games. It has allowed a good, committed panel of players develop into a very competitive group. More outings for supporters to make a summer of it too.

The concern I'd have is that 3 or 4 counties who are impatient for knockout will argue this is irrelevant and seek change. Why are we so intent on putting counties out of action so early in the year? Teams like Louth (and Monaghan) will have to speak up on this.

Good luck against Cork in Inniskeen.

Your 100% correct, but unfortunately it only seems to be beneficial to few teams and luckily Louth is of them,I really don't know what the Gaa are going to do,I don't see the point of Louth losing to for example Dublin in a Leinster semi final next year and then getting 1 knock out v Galway/Tyrone,no benefit in that whatsoever, but for the moment we'll enjoy the ride and hopefully it continues till next week at least.....

The only flaw I have with it Eddie is Derry have lost 3 matches and are still in it. They could be the first team to lose 3 matches and still go on and win the All Ireland. Cheers for the well wishes. Hopefully on Sunday at 4.30 pm wee will see Louth making history and reach the quarter finals for the very first time.

I think the current format is great for so called weaker sides Ollie. It gives them real hope and belief that they can progress. We are a perfect case in point. Derry won't win the All Ireland. They're too dependent on Glass, Rogers and McGuigan.

I would not rule them out yet Greengrass. They can't get Donegal in the quarter finals. They will face Armagh, Dublin or Kerry. Its gonna be some hell of a game whoever they get.

Best of luck to our neighbours today. Be great to see Inniskeen play host to a famous Louth win over Cork reaching Q/F for first time.

Great win, very good defensive performance, could have been further ahead after we went 2 up, with some wayward passing and nerves on the big occasion. Sam pulled us over the line at the end. Great to win it as Cork did have a purple patch in the second half, but we did deserve it. Bring on Ulster team and Croke Park day out.

Craig Lennon is definitely an All Star nominee at wing back and I think another good performance from Craig in Croker next weekend and he will probably get the number 7 All Star award.

4 goals and 6 points from play is unbelievable for a wing back in the championship.

Some of them goals and points were against Dublin and Kerry too.

Great win for Louth yesterday…. I fancied them as Cork are not great when away from home… had a small wager at 2/1…!

Well done to Louth & all concerned yesterday, when the game was there to be won ye had the moral conviction to take the fight to us.
Fortune favors the brave & The Wee County had courage in abundance.
Best of luck next week, tis a credit to Louth GAA & a lesson to all what can be achieved from the smallest playing pool in Ireland.

How many GAA clubs in Louth.. I thought it was 38-40 ?
Its absolutely brilliant to have a team like Louth on the up and there is no reason they cannot put it up to Donegal now and reach a semi-final. If you are lucky, you could get winners of Armagh and Roscommon, making an All-Ireland final a very good possibility.
Although Louth is a big soccer county with big clubs like Dunalk and Drogheda, Louth's progression this past few years has to do a lot for GAA in the county now and should certainly make youngsters more interested in GAA in these big towns.

Congratulations to Louth GAA, on your great win over Cork. Quarter final v Donegal next, Louth have improved a lot in thecoastc2-3 years, are now a quality side.
