Replying To fergie:  "Hi lads. just looking at our league fixtures for next year. Looking to go to Ruislip in March. I was there once back in 2005. What is the closest airport to fly in to and is it easy to get to the ground and back to the airport?! Thanks"
If budget is an issue flying into gatwick or luton is much cheaper. Train from gatwick to ruislip takes a little over an hour with a few stops depending on route you choose. Paying by card is chepaest option for public transport

Was in Ruislip before, a really nice ground and clubhouse, better again that we secured the win that year.

Any word on preparations for the senior football team ? Definitely want to give the new man a chance. From what I have heard he will be full of passion and will be a 'players man'. However, players these days respond to a professional setup so the back room team will be key, more so one that can figure out the new rules and how we can benefit from them. Also what players make themselves available will be important - we see how our clubs perform on the Leinster stage, so as ever our starting point will be low.

Fair point bainisteoir. From what little I've heard the augers ain't good. This was one of the reasons Darragh foley packed it in I've been told but who knows. Nevertheless the proof will be in the pudding so best hold fire for now.

What's the story with the stand in Dr Cullen Park? I see the seats have all been taken out. Presumably they're replacing them as they had become quite faded but anyone know?

U20 finals were last night big win for palatine in the A final. A bit of an upset. As eire og have 4 in a row winning minor teams. it's been a great year for palatine. 14s 16s 18s 20s all won.

Ballon had a good win in the B over asca. A fine year for them also.

Any word on who's going to be the new captain for the senior footballers this season could have been a great opportunity to announce it threw the release of the New Jersey instead of a mannequin

Has there been any announcement of a backroom team for the senior football yet? It's a few months since Shane Curran was handed the manager role.

Also, if I was the sponsor of the Carlow teams, I'd be quite upset at the unveiling of the new jersey this week. A mannequin, senior hurling manager not there, just a photo or two taken on someone's phone. Compare it to how Wexford or Kildare did theirs in the past year or so: professional photographer, players wearing the jersey, really professional announcement. If a sponsor is putting in their hard earned cash to support a county team, the least they should get is a proper announcement. (and to know what the backroom team they're paying for is!)

The Nationalist carried a piece on the new jersey- the sponsors and the Club Carlow last Tuesday. Photos were in the issue with names etc as well.
Looks like it is very hard to satisfy people.
Where would you want money spent- on the playing fields or on a launch ?

Agree that the Bennekerry Tinryland ladies team put in an outstanding performance yesterday to deservedly be crowned All Ireland Intermediate champions !
Some display of coolness and great team play.

For their first time in Croke Park in a final and to win it convincingly is a great achievement.
All clubs will be pushed to integrate ladies football and camogie.
Great to see BT winning ! Nice to see Deirdre Tomlinson getting a run too. Deserves it after so many years.

Fair play to BT great win for them. Old leighlin had come close to a breakthrough before but this BT team has serious strength in depth. I thought Lauren dwyer was the difference yesterday

Brilliant performance by BT in the all ireland. Very assured in their play and never seem to panic in possession of the ball. Great having a relative on the team too! Congratulations and well done to players and management!
