If it happened under Bonner's reign , any Donegal fan would have questioned the severity of the punishment as they did under Jim. Stop making it about Bonner all the time, good God. Declan, is that you?!

A bit ironic how he is serving some of his own suspension in the wee 6 given how it came about.

Can we all give Clare (S1234) some space, she has just promised not to post on the Mayo GAA blog again. She's has had a rough morning on the GAA forums. Ha!

Weirdly I see strong similarities between our own roryboy and this S1234 poster. finishing postings with 'ha' and lol and calling people fools etc. all very similar. Jim has plenty of people within this county that would rather see him fail, rem that too. Anyway I think the genuine Mayo poster TheFlaker is spot on again on this thread, Jim knew all along and he was just exposing a loophole, getting young Roarty started with the seniors and make a name for him in the process and it's also a free team bonding exercise when you study it, build the siege mentality in the group, rem the wristbands first time round? Eunan's made an approach to him, some of their senior players met with him.

There are no real winners in the recent Roarty case; Ulster Council, Jim McGuinness, Donegal County Board, GAA Administration, majority of posters on this forum including many Donegal ones, but most of all Finbarr Roarty who I would think has not slept very well during the last couple of weeks. In doubt McGuinness , roarty or anyone in the county board lost any sleep over the case. The only people who got really bothered about it were some of the posters on here

I'm following this story since it broke..a mid ale it seems was made, who to blame doesn't seem to have been sorted.Jim mc Guinness looks as if it wasn't his fault..by my knowledge of Gaa matters a county secretary hands all team lists to officials, therefore surely he is partly to blame..also most counties have liaison officers, should they not be responsible aswell unless no one knew the rules involved..I just hope the young man involved in all this is being looked after properly,he could have done without being propelled into the spotlight at such a young age..everyone will now be watching over the next few years to see how he progresses, even this year with Donegal 20s. "Not slept very well" he got suspended for 2 weeks and 2 games he probably wasn't going to play in anyway, somehow I don't think he's been having trouble sleeping and instead probably very pleased to make his senior county debut and happy enough training with his club

Don't be worrying about Finbar. He will be well looked after at the current County Champions. Hopefully he will have a great future ahead of him playing for the best Club in Donegal and he will be well ready to make the step up to the County next year.
