Any idea why there was such a wait for minor final to be played ?

So no surprise."
We're you the referee lol

You dont even have to go back that far. Same story last year after being beat by LK Gaels in the Junior semi final in Glenties.

The irony being they can't provide a senior ref themselves but seem to have plenty of experts.

I don't think this forum is an appropriate place to elaborate any further.
What I heard was what was allegedly said.
Plus, I'd doubt the admins would permit me to post any detail anyway.

This was an U14 game - the language and behaviour was very much inappropriate in front of young lads.

Wasn't at game last year. First I heard of anything happening. Was the ref. Attacked or something.

From you been at the game - what was said then ???

If you don't know which I've no doubt that you've any idea at that time - we will go with what was in the official referee report so…

Now don't expect anyone to believe that you haven't seen that as it's been widely circulated……..

Maybe do most a favour and remove yourself as that would eliminate 90% of the waffle.

Replying To Curlew66:  "Ha , ha. you are on a roll, don't forget that the Thompson's dad was a Rossie and Leo's mum from Tipp.
A great win for Naomh Conaill …some achievement for a small town club (apologies to my friends in that beautiful part of the country) .They never gave up and kept believing to the very end , shades of the '82 AI final at the end with that high floating cross. I'm sure the journey home to the hills was so much shorter after that result. Thought they were solid with occasional flashes of brilliance , probably left 1-03 behind in the first half, lost concentration and momentum through the second half but that incredible spirit saw them through at the end.
Glen appear to have all the aces and will be hot favourites to advance just like most pundits predicted a Kilcoo/ Crossmaglen semifinal in the other half. NC will travel in hope probably to Omagh and you just never know with this incredible group of players.
Naomh Conaill Abú !"
They are magnificent aren't they - never known to be beaten.

I don't like the style myself but it's successful and if my club had a continued period of dominance playing that muck - I would not care one bit.

The mgr deserves huge credit for pulling all the elements together with input from all over the county/country- that cannot be easy to nit together…

No need for it at all, regardless of how poor the officiating was."
This is very true - very poor form indeed from the twice county mgr

But now your club is now going in a different direction and have been advertising on Social media since the weekend looking for applicants."
Ah the old a friend "told" me!!

There brings the end to any sort of credible debate

I try to stay away from pub talk..

Hi Newnan21: That's correct. An underage opposition player might have even got a slap too from sideline if memory serves me correct.

Re-read my post slowly to ensure you understand it correctly, a member of the executive told me, not an old friend or pub talk rubbish.

Must be mad men down about the rosses. Always struck me as being decent people. You must feel good about yourself posting about a club on a anonymous forum.

I don't think there's a club in the county that can honestly say they always treat referees with respect.
But a line has to be drawn somewhere, otherwise noone will want to take up the whistle. Who could blame them? Some of the abuse they're subjected to is horrendous. And this is in an era where we're supposed to all be more aware when it comes to mental health.

Clubs rightly promote initiatives to support mental health campaigns and charities. But does that all then go out the window when officials are verbally and sometimes even physically attacked? Most refs are genuine people who don't go out to make mistakes and have no hidden agendas. Time we all started to respect them a bit more if you ask me,

If what is contained in the referees report is correct, and there's no reason why it wouldn't be then the comments are an absolute disgrace. I'm sure the good people of Na Rossa are ashamed of them too.
