The agenda to try and compare the Bonner regime with Donegal and the Naomh Conaill set up continues. Naomh Conaill play with next level intensity and defensive grit which Donegal under Bonner didn't. Much as I like Bonner, it's naive and inaccurate to compare the two systems. Either someone isn't paying attention or doesn't understand football that well. Congratulations to Naomh Conaill, the standout team in Donegal now over a prolonged period of time, much as it pains me to say it : D

Great credit to our Manager and players. 7 finals in a row, 4 won out of the last 5. Great to be around to witness this incredible achievement from such a wonderful buch of players."
Thank you for replying to all my posts. First to admit n Conal were brilliant yesterday but in fairness gaoth dobhar we're disappointing . N Conal have to go on now and win Ulster. Will they be let play like they done yesterday absolutely not. But I would love to see that bunch of players win it they deserve it. A good honest bunch of players who every club must aspire to be..

Is that the same Convoy who were Intermediate reserve champions last year.

Bit of a step down now the be crowing about being Junior champions.

What did Robert Emmets do on you to rattle your cage BeardedBorderGael.

For sure. Naomh Conaill were superb yesterday and even their harshest critics couldn't have anything but praise for them this morning. They quickly established a stranglehold on the match and just didn't let go. I feared for Gaoth Dobhair once Naomh Conaill got that early 3 or 4 point lead. I think for Gaoth Dobhair to have had any chance yesterday they needed that scenario the other way around.

Ethan O'Donnell and the Dohertys were outstanding. Ciaran Thompson demonstrated his usual class, whilst the old warriors like Tony, McDyre and Leo kept things nice and calm. They really are just a really seasoned team, fully comfortable in what they're doing, and with a really high bank of fitness and conditioning to back it all up. Just a comprehensive rubberstamp that they are undoubtedly the best team in Donegal over the last 15 years plus.

It just didn't happen for Gaoth Dobhair yesterday. The game sort of quickly got away from them and it was always going to be a struggle after that. They really needed a couple of quick-fire goals if there was to be any hope of a comeback but that never looked likely. They'll be disappointed of course but there are still a lot of good players for MacNiallais to work with there, even if one or two of the old stalwarts might be stepping away.

I thought Gaoth Dobhair looked shell shocked in that opening 10 minutes and that was the losing of the game, 5 points to nothing in those 10 minutes, poor play from Gaoth Dobhair but absolutely fantastic play from Naomh Conaill, pressure on the kickout and some lovely scores taken as well.

Gaoth Dobhair had chances to reduce the deficit but the shooting boots weren't on in that first half especially, their key men were well shackled and they couldn't live with NC's intensity and speed. Their own defensive set up was non existent as NC were able to tear it apart at will. Thompsons point off his right boot in the first half was a really lovely score, he's one of my favourite players in the county.

Ethan O'Donnell was sensational too

Comhghairdeas NC and hope you go on to give Ulster a proper rattle now. Hard luck to Gaoth Dobhair they will have regrets as I know they are better than they showed yesterday.

Massive congrats to Glenties/Fintown - worthy champions.

The ballybofey Doherty's along with Ethan and Ciaran Thomo were simply fantastic.

Great to see them actually go all out yesterday - difficult to understand why they don't do it more regular as they are well capable.

One big factor that stood out for me yesterday was their level of conditioning, sharpness along with unreal fitness levels - massive compliment to the st Eunans fitness coach in the camp.

Best of luck in ulster..

At least they never dropped out of the competition they were supposed to be in after the draw was made because they didn't want to put the work in.

Turns out the handy cup wasn't so handy after all.

Well done Convoy, on maintaining the integrity of the competition while another club tried to take it away.

Replying To The keeper:  "Well County champions again, beat all the top teams to get there, and won the final in style today.
Surely posters that have criticized this great club and team in the past can now admit they are an excellent team and club.
Everything has been fired at this team, to defensive, opposition had men missing, referee destroyed the game. Well what will these certain posters excuse be now.
As good a display off football as I have seen in a county final, well done Naomh conail, what a joy it is to be from there.
Hard luck to Gweedore, played on and never gave up. Just wasn't there day, but will be back.

Us in Naomh conail have always remained humble, worked hard and even in defeat never made excuses.
It's certain posters from other clubs that need to stay humble and show respect.
Like we have a Eunans supporter on here on about where our players and coaches are from, even through all the players have strong Naomh conail tradition.
Hard luck to Gweedore yesterday, days like that can happen, like two years ago for our club.
It's how you respond that matters.

Should be a good game. Gowna fairly romped to victory yesterday I see. Who would be Gowna's main men?

That's what's wrong with young ones nowadays - too engrossed in technology and what other people think. Put away the phone and enjoy the moment.

Pretty straight forward win. They have managed to do it the hard way as well by beating Glenswilly, Kilcar, Eunans, and Gweedore.

Wishing them the best of luck in Ulster. If they are to do well in that they will have to do that the hard way as well. Cavan champs then likely to be Glen in semi if they make it and likely Kilcoo in the final if they were to make it.

What a performance from Naomh Conaill yesterday. Blew Gaoth Dobhair out of the water. Over after 20 mins.
Just a note though on the shenanigans from behind the town end…..that should have need stopped earlier than it was.
