I believe a handful of the senior players set the comeback wheels in motion the day after the Tyrone game by landing to Jim's house and pleading with him to return. I think Jim would have been impressed with that alone as he was always very much in favour of things being player driven in the past. What was said to him? Only they know.

I'm still a bit sceptical whether he will return or not but if he does it will give the county as a whole an untold lift. I'd love to see it, here's hoping...

It's a done deal. Always a pleasure filling you in on the happenings in your own county. Backroom team also in place also.

Do you know how long he got.If he has still got ambitions for a soccer job you would fear he might only commit for a short term.

Yeah Cahir O'Kane said as much in his article in the Irish News. Do you know who is in the backroom team and what is the situation regarding the academy?

I don't think we can count the 3rd favourites as dark horses.

Definitely has his uses, the kind of guy you'd want on a dogfight put it that way. Had a horrific injury a couple of years ago so depends how well he has recovered

Yes your obsession is a bit unnerving. Probably other healthier past times you could have.

Rent free.

Nah lad I haven't commented on here in ages just couldn't resist after your comment basically saying you will believe it when you see it if Jim takes over, a few days after it's a done deal. You are some man for not having a notion. Maybe your alter ego from Laois will jump on to back you up. You went very quiet on this thread yourself after the review came out and everyone on here said the coaching officer has to go. Quite a coincidence.

Coaching officer is still there months after you said he would be 'gone soon'. Maybe he'll be in McGuinness backroom team as well?

Try get a bit of sightseeing done in Germany. It's well known how obsessive Mayo fans are but life's too short to be obsessing over other Counties.

He doesn't have a notion who is in the backroom team.

Very exciting times. Let's hope it works well for Jim. He will be under some pressure to deliver but time is needed for sure. He will have his enemies in the media and also those within the county but I think he must feel there's something special in the brewing in Donegal to make the return. He's not returning to win an Ulster and get to an All Ireland semi final. Big ask, but the best man is in charge.
