Replying To Scenicparish:  "St Eunans played the exact same way on Sunday. Derry have won 2 Ulster Titles playing the same way. How have we destroyed club football? Its up to other teams to find a way of breaking us down."
Exactly. Too many blaming others and then copying their tactics. If one coach works out how to beat the blanket with decent football it will disappear fairly sharply.

When Donegal came out of the parked bus in the 2014 semi-final against Dublin it was a joy to behold.

In the senior it's open draw in the quarters I believe so if a few of the big hitters are drawn together it could give an outsider a chance to reach the final. If for example Glenswilly were to make the final, in a one off match with Murphy on the rampage, it would be good to shake things up a bit.

I thought it was 1-4 plays 5-8?

Glenswilly are miles away from winning it. A lot of disrespect to Naomh Conall here, everyone tipping St Eunans. They are very much disrespected every year despite winning it. I think most teams, pundits and fans in general need to realise their achievements. My thinking is the team from Glenties are favourites till beaten. And by the looks of last week's league final, that won't be happening soon.

Good attitude. Right mentality for senior football. Interesting to see if his skillset is there.

No. 1-4 go through. Then 12 play 5 , 11 play 6 and so on to see who the other four is. Then when all 8 are through, it's an open draw !

Na Rossa will be there or thereabouts in the junior I'd say too. Has Adrian Sweeney transferred there? I know Hanlon is playing for them.

In fairness I would have St Eunans as favourites also, with a full outfit, with Naomh conaill second favourite.
We have a good defender back this season in Doherty, but may be missing Mcgettigan again due to injury. It's a shame if he is out, a classy skillful forward, which would have been a massive boost to us.

But that's football and we will make no excuses.

I remember people saying Naomh conaill and Eunans were going to dominate for 10-15 years and glenswilly came and won 3 county titles.

So no one is guaranteed to win anything and it's all up for grabs.

A pity about McGettigan, a lively forward with a bit of divilment about him.

Also hearing Dáire O'Baoíll is out for the championship. Big loss to Gaoth Dobhair if true.

Na Rossa are strong enough but Conor O'Donnell is the MVP in this Championship. If he plays to potential I would fancy Carn. They were going well last yesr until a second half collapse in the final.

He has, they have a couple of ex Glenties men playing for the too. Michael Hegarty has transferred to Dunkinelly as well by all accounts. Two of the best in their day. Manys a ball Hegarty fed big Eddie with to spit the posts or hit the onion bag.

On the Managerial front, I hope it's a case of no news being good news, well for the time being anyway. The media appear to have backed off the story a little. I'd say they are, like many of us, waiting for the second coming. They will be able to sell any amount of column inches in the event that it does happen.

In the meantime, our rivals in Armagh and Tyrone have made their decision. It will be interesting in Derry, will they stick or twist with Ciaran Meenagh. Is Malachy hovering in the background there?

There's someone else hovering in the background in Derry! I heard they want him back.

Masters have a few years to hang on yet but there's plenty coming. Very young squad but good players.

Gents - I've stuck up a couple of separate threads for a Donegal Championship predictions competition. For those interested, please keep your predictions separate. i.e. your predictions for this weekend in the Week 1 thread, and your predictions for the second round of matches in the Week2 thread. I'm away for a couple of weeks so I'll total all the scores up whenever I'm back. Good luck!
