Right. I wasn't sure..

Four Masters have been doing serious work. Didn't they have two teams entered in the southern division minor division and both reached the final? Their minor team also reached the Ulster final last year. It will be interesting to track their progress into u20s and beyond.

Lacy has no involvement with Four Masters at underage level. Their success is due to the hard work of many of their members.

We will slog it out fir league and championship this year - b 4 big meetings ahead this year starting in the league this weekend.

Not sure how much effort either will focus on this weekend or the pending league final tho as it's all about winning the championship.

I'd defo b interested in your competition if you have the time to do it - fair play."
I see you still have a problem spelling Naomh Conaill????

Masters split the Minor teams evenly for the league. There was point in it for the divisional final. That team was then beat by Buncrana in County league final. They are entered into the Div 1 and Div 3 of the championship so Id say they'll go with 1st and 2nd teams. They have 2 teams in Finals of U15 Div 1 and Div 3 on sunday.

Will the 3 Glenties/fintown men be back playing for letterkenny after there spell in the states.
I expect them to return and hopefully stay and fight for there place in the Donegal team next season.

I agree that league means nothing compared to championship, however our great manager at Naomh Conaill always respects every competition and will go out to win everything.

Can't wait for the championship, and it will be the usual contenders that will be fighting it out, Naomh Conaill, Letterkenny, kilcar and gweedore, with an outside bet if I were a betting man, on glenswilly.

What club catchment area does Drunkeen fall under? Big enough area

St Mary's Convoy which encompasses Drumkeen, Convoy and Raphoe. Heavily influenced soccer areas though which might contribute to the lack of success.

I see Robert Emmets are trying to enter the Junior B Championship this season, just can't get players out. Always produced a decent soccer outfit, Gaelic football just doesn't have the same pull.

What's the odds on n Conal doing the clean sweep of championships. Seeing they have 4 teams entered. Any you're trying to say they're a small club. Lol.

If they ever tried and played football it would be a start. Always brought my gumshield when playing in Castlefinn.

A big night for Donegal GAA tonight. Let's hope quite a few members of the executive do the right thing and step down from their positions.

Why was the match between Naomh Conaill and St Eunans on the back field yesterday?

County board meeting tonight according to McEniff's column. I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall there.

Main field was reseeded and sprayed. No action for 2 weeks.

The back pitch looked cracking yesterday and is better than most pitches in the county

They haven't won the hay on the front field yet.

My understanding from a distance here is that Naomh Conaill is based in the parish of INISKEEL which constitutes of the GLENTIES district (1,500) with over half of that in the Tidy Town (800 population) , the sub parish of FINTOWN (400 souls) and the sparsely populated church district of EDEN ? (need help on this name) adding a couple of hundred more. For some historic reason players residing in the West of the parish (Narin-Portnoo) play for Ardara .

Yes , it's a large land mass but dominated by the barren Bluestack mountain range. It's similar in a way to suggest that the expansive 40,000 ac Glenveagh National Park and the vastness of the Derryveagh Mountains gives Gaoth Dobhair or Termon CLG an advantage.

It's laughable to have posters here from a town of 20,000+ suggesting that NC with a pick of about 1,500 max be split in two. Naomh Conaill have been a consistent top four club in the past two decades in a county with Letterkenny (20,000), Buncrana(6,800), Twin Towns(5,000) and Donegal Town (2,700). It would be interesting to see what clubs like NC and Kilcar are doing well in coaching, underage, schools etc to punch well above their weight.

Hope the neutral views of an outsider sheds some light on this continuous debate. I have visited and travelled through all parts of your beautiful county many times, did some OS work there .. fascinating place names. Had a very interesting chat with a Donegal PP in The Hyde about your club set up bout 5 years ago during a one sided Super 8 match, Michael Murphy was kicking points for fun.

That was a good game. Murphy was untouchable that day. I remember Ódhrán MacNíallais almost scored a peach of a goal that day too with a rasper of a shot from a fair way out.
