Replying To B&G:  "Colmcille lost the final after a replay in extra time last year, cannot be considered a collapse.
This is their third final in four years, winning and losing one.

The biggest collapse has come from your own club, beaten finalists in 2023 and then beaten at the QF stage since despite all the expectations."
What's your club B&G?

Replying To Oddball:  "There is more chance of me taking the job than Dessie Dolan.
I can't see Clonguish going for a big outside name.
The last big splash they made was appointing Michael McCormack and that was nearly 20 years ago.
They could keep it in house with Davy Barden, Derek Duggan or Ciaran Carey all likely candidates.
I hear both relegated senior clubs are also on the look out for new managers for next year as is Granard.
Granard will possibly look across the county boundary for their new man."
I was only thinking the other day wouldn't the sensible thing for Clonguish be to promote the management team that had the success at underage with a huge portion of the Clonguish team coming from it over past 2/3 years. I think Carey was over them? I still think their big issue is they lack the physicality, they are quick and slick but Colmcille had fully developed men in their team in comparison.

Agree somewhat I think experienced head and cuteness more so clonguish still had few big players in midfield maybe in forward more balance big men and small maybe but I dont think that's only issue think was lack of plan b colmcile knew clonguish strengths and did relative well on them

Genuine question, how do people feel about amalgamations? Never been a fan, played for one before and they split up, got back and the cycle repeated.

Congratulations to Ardagh/Moydow on winning the intermediate championship for the first time as that entity. Kilashee were very poor, and as a neutral, i was expecting more from them based off their form from the year. Great leadership from the back from A/M centre half back and good scoring from the Cody lad in the forwards.

Strange to think that A/M were supposed to be playing in the Junior Championship this year and are now a Senior club, presuming they actually go up?

5 in a row for Clonguish Óg at minor level, the underage title conveyor belt continues. 3 U21, 5 Minor, 4 Juvenile and 3 U14 titles since 2020, a fantastic achievement.

Not big fan but sometimes a necessity for smaller clubs who some years have smaller numbers or struggling at underage what are we do with them forget them lose more clubs

I do see your point though but it's not a simple issue

Junior Football Final - Ballymahon Forgney V Dromard (Prediction - Dromard)
Senior Football Final - Clonguish V Longford Slashers (Prediction - Slashers)
GAA:
Senior Football Final - Colmcille V Killoe Young Emmets (Prediction - Killoe)
Senior Hurling Final Replay - Longford Slashers V Wolfe Tones (Prediction - Slashers)
Junior Football Final - Clonguish V Killoe Young Emmets (Prediction - Clonguish)
Junior B Football Final - Dromard V St. Mary's Granard (Prediction - Dromard)
Junior C Football Final - Ardagh Moydow V Killoe Young Emmets (Prediction - Killoe)

Well done to Ardagh Moydow last weekend on an excellent Intermediate win. They took a lot by surprise this year, I know I hadn't considered them in my top 4. Best of luck to all teams and officials in finals. Finally, I hope Gerry Carberry wins a championship this weekend, a Junior 'C' one.

Will Ardagh/Moydow be able to participate in Leinster championship as they are an amalgamation

With Clonguish's dominance at underage it is a matter of time before they are a dominant force in Longford football. Maybe then clubs eill have yo amalgamate yo have a chance to break Clonguish's stranglehold.

Ah will you stop talking tripe. It will be a few years before Clonguish win a senior championship. Most of their team are 21 or younger, so it will take a few years before they are fully bulked up to seriously contend for a championship.

They are one permanent club now so they can play. It is only one off amalgamations and divisional teams who are not allowed

They are a sole club not a amalgamation

I predicted Killoe to win at the start of the year and I'm sticking with that. Should be a close contest. Our juniors might just shade the curtain raiser.

Killoe kings of Longford football yet again. Colmcille had their chances in an epic match in which a draw would have been a fair result
