Replying To B&G:  "A statement won for Clonguish this evening. Scoreboard miss leading as Dromard got their 3 goals in last 10 minutes.
They are not odds on favourites for nothing. When they land the crown in a few weeks time I hope that their captain does not put the kiss of death on their 5 in a row bid"
One would argue that 3 goals in the last 10 mins shows how fragile Clonguish can be defensively if put under pressure. Whilst their scoring has been hugely impressive, I think that their defence can be got at by a quality team, it's just a matter of stopping them piling on the scores which seems a hard task seeing as they have players who can kick two pointers for fun!

They didn't score any 2 pointers yesterday. Also, 2 if not 3 Dromard goals came when Clonguish took off 2 of their full back line.

In fairness all 3 goals came when match was over as a contest
While they did not get any 2 pointers they did get 6 three pointers which was the difference

Abbey looked like they were going to run away with the second game today. Very soft goal let Colmcille back into it. Very worrying to see Abbey left it till Colm Smyth went down the 3rd time before taking him off with a head injury. Hopefully the lad is OK. Killoe never looked like losing today. Mullinalaghta looked a very old team today. I think Killoe will win it out from here.

Very entertaining game last night with Rathcline and Carrickedmond. Well done to the Rats, Carrick had chances but it just went away from them. Clonguish game was over part way through the first half. They could have had more goals in that first half and took their foot off the gas in the end. Killoe took their usual danger nap early on and then woke up, caught up and never really looked like losing it after that. Not memorable but got the job done. Didn't get to see the Colmcille v Clonguish game in the end. Not a big shock really.

Clonguish and Killoe would be favourites to push on, but the popular choice would be Clonguish and Rathcline to make it a novel pair - not sure they've ever played other in the final? IMO Clonguish are still ahead of the pack on scoring power and ability to close teams down in their own half - it's still theirs to lose so i'm sticking with my original prediction from months ago that they will do the treble.

Rathcline and Clonguish met in the final in 76, the only time Rathcline won it. That was the end of that great Clonguish team of the 60's and 70's.
