Replying To LongfordgaaAbú:  "Based on form so far, the semis will be Clonguish, Colmcille, Abbeylara and Rathcline. Killoe might dislodge one of those if they can sort out the snooze syndrome that seems to afflict them in the first half of games. That first half against Dromard at the weekend was frankly shocking. Hard to see past Mostrim and the Gaels making the drop.

Clonguish still hot favourites to win it out. Not seen anything to alter my thus far accurate treble prediction.

(sound of usual warriors typing frantically)"
Have to agree with the above analysis.
Three teams from Group Of Death. Last year, Abbey were the only team (I think) that made SF from Group Of Death.
Hard to see past Clonguish. Will dominate for a few years.

Wouldn't rule mullinalaghta scrapping enough wins to get to semi if a full team together but beatable but still capable of knocking a top Team on their day

Analysis? To say Killoe won't make the semi finals is bordering on insanity. County champions two years ago and they are after blowing Dromard away with their two best players still to come back.
Clonguish were lucky to get by Abbeylara who were missing Robbie Smyth

I think we'll give ye a rattle if ye are not focused on Friday. We should have beaten Slashers and we didn't take enough advantage of the turnovers we won against Rathcline. Local Derby at the end of the day and our lads are well up for it.

Blowing away Dromard isn't exactly a yardstick to measure Killoe's credentials. Dromard relegated to D2. OK They may had a 100% record prior to last weekend. They beat poor Granard and Mostrim sides.
Now while all depends on QF draw.
Teams to make it are
Colmcille, Killoe, Carrick, Dromard, Clonguish, Rathcline, Abbey & either Mullinaughta/ Slashers.
I know the draw is 1 v 4, 2 v 3 across group. Last 4 will be those suggested by Longfordgaa above

What do we predict for the weekend men?

Are Mullinalaghtha a big price @3/1 to beat Abbeylara. Love to hear your opinions from a punters point of view.

I predict wins for Carrick, Clonguish, Killoe, Colmcille, Abbey and Rathcline. I was talking to a lad Sunday evening, and he was saying that Rathcline really fancy themselves to go all the way this year. He said they are coming in under the radar and all the talk is about Clonguish, Colmcille and Killoe and its suiting them down to the ground. 7/1 with the bookies at the minute, well worth sticking a few euro on them.

Predictions for the weekend:

Carrickedmond v Granard = Carrickedmond
Fr. Manning Gaels v Clonguish = Clonguish
Colmcille v Dromard = Colmcille
Killoe v Mostrim = Mostrim
Abbeylara v Mullinalaghta = Abbeylara
Slashers v Rathcline = Rathcline

Carrickedmond should nail down that last QF spot in Group A this weekend. The Colmcille-Dromard game will be a dogfight. Abbey should have enough to beat Mullinalaghta and qualify. That last spot in Group B will probably go to Mullinalaghta who have the easier final round. Hard to see a shock unless Rathcline have their wobble this weekend.

"Hard to see a shock unless Rathcline have their wobble this weekend"......and then you go on to predict the rank outsiders Mostrim to beat red hot favourites Killoe!!!

Good win by Granard last night. Ensures that there will be something to play for in two matches in that group on the final day.

Great pitch in Dromard but the internet is shocking!! Paying a good fee for clubber and the game isn't watchable. Ended up watching an Offaly championship game.

Mighty 15 point win for Rathcline today over Longford Slashers to give them 3 championship wins. There must be something in the water in Lanesborough/Ballyleague at the moment as St Faithleachs also had a 9 point win today in Roscommon to make it 2 from 2. (100% championship success so far for both teams)
A challenge game between the two in the small town would be interesting as they have already beaten the existing county champions in both Longford and Roscommon.

Mullinalaghta will still make the QF's. They play us in the last game while Slashers have Abbeylara.
We looked ok in the first half against Clonguish, but it was only a matter of time before they got going.
As bad as Mullinalaghta look this year, there's no chance of us beating them.

Rathcline must have been v impressive again and are increasingly looking like the real deal. What has happened to Slashers? No one will want to play Rathcline now. They haven't performed in pearse park the last couple of years though so they still have it all to do.
