Replying To liosbreac6265:  "Mullinalaghta would win the championship if they had their full pick. Playing without the two McGivneys, Rian Brady and John Keegan and still putting in a performance like that against a good Dromard side is the hallmark of a quality club, not to mention Mulligan going early in the second half. Fox was off too for a lengthy period. I think another draw could be on the cards Saturday"
I agree I think they would

That is a lot for any club to contend with. I know Killoe are without Quinn, Kiernan, G Farrelly, M Hughes, L Hughes, J Moran and D Moffitt which are all starters when fit. Only 4 of them may make it back this year. Clonguish seem to be down a good few too. The amount of injuries seem to grow and grow each year which is concerning. It used to be emigration would decimate a club, now it's injuries. I'm not sure what that is down to, maybe overtraining, less breaks, too muscle bound, harder pitches....

At the Carrickedmond and Slashers game this eve which ended a draw, game of 2 half's in which Slashers were much better in first half, which Carrick produced a strong comeback in second half and probably deserved to get a victory. Few contentious decisions with a clear carrick score from a free waived wide in first half and a slashers score from free in first half given as a score despite many viewing it as a wide, albeit the neutural umpire in question been from Slashers. Even the clubber commentator from Slashers questioned both decisions.

Game continues the trend of been a hotly contested group been the 4th draw and little separating any of the 6 teams. All to play for in the remaining games with the top 4 teams still very hard to call at this point

Second half score from the Killie game 2 points to 1? 3 points in a half of championship football is almost unbelievable. Were both teams playing against the wind!

The umpire wasn't from Slashers unless he transferred. Did he transfer to Slashers ?

He caught himself out with his own lies. A draw was a fair result.

Lyons is still there. Don't get carried away with a big win over Kenagh

Yes he is and I believe he is very well received with the shannonside club from all reports. They fancy their chances in winning the championship this year. Heard Lyons is in the running for the Longford gig too.

League in Longford was really shown for what it is this weekend. Madness that a division 2 side should be able to comfortably beat the league champions. The league has become nothing more than a pile of challenge matches.

On the County management position, i was at the killoe game lastnight and some of the officials there from ardagh were saying Liam Keenan has expressed interest for the Job. He was actually standing to the side of the stand and seem to be taking notes. Any more contenders? Has Lyons the credentials? Is this his 2nd year in Rathcline?

As predicted, we were beaten. I actually thought we were the better team overall but when Andrew Flynn went off injured our defence opened up. I'm not sure why Careys goal in the first half was disallowed. It looked from where I was that he caught it cleanly over the the head of the Mullinalaghta player. Anyway, big improvement in our performance yesterday but the last 2 games are must wins if we are to have any chance of progressing. The return of Michael Flynn for the last 5 minutes is a plus, but with Andrew more than likely missing those last 2 games, I think we will struggle to get the 2 results.
