Replying To williesboy:  "Agree was a great final and it leaves Hyland with egg on his face after slating the club game. I don't think B proposal will get through at congress as I believe it has many holes in it but when he comes up the following year it will be a better structure."
If it doesn't pass on Saturday it's taken off the agenda for a period of years (3 possibly).
Of course I'm subject to correction on this but this is to prevent threshing out spurious issues year after year.

Really enjoyed that game yesterday... Fair play to both teams

Hyland was correct about the club game in Leitrim... the evidence is to be seen year in year out when we leave Leitrim. There's no doubt there's some outstanding individual players in the county but not enough of them (obviously). There's no doubt yesterday was a great game and I hope it's the start of something positive. The proof will be in the pudding I guess... we'll see how B'more fair on Connacht."
And we'll see how far a cavan club gets in ulster. Which won't be very far either.

Does anyone know what the uncommon haste was yesterday with chairman Stenson handing out the fener coup?

Andy Moran will be impressed, great to hear Andy's positivity it's refreshing to hear it especially after Terry Hyland running down the club game in leitrim.
I'm hoping there is a big push for proposal B at special Congress, and that it gets through would be great to see Pairc Sean full during next summer with Leitrim playing teams at our level."
Out of interest what games would likely be full in Páirc Seán next year Under proposal B?

3 or 4 games at home against neighbours Sligo, Wexford, Waterford,London, Tipp or Cavan? Worth noting half of the games will be played in April.

Absolutley agree Square B. Huge hype about this game all over media. Hopefully SOH can follow through and play to their potential and beyond in the Connacth Championship. That is the real gauge of the standard of football. Not questioning quality displayed or competitiveness of yesterday but a bit of perspective needed.

If it doesn't pass it makes a mockery of the committee's GAA put in place. ie a fixtures committee that in two years cant come up with a proposal that will pass in congress. I think proposal B is the best of a bad lot but to think that its the best the GAAs chosen experts can come up with doesn't say much for the brains trust in the association.

He looked like he was on the way to a wedding in that suit, to be fair

Great game, Mohill great champions and have set a standard for the rest of the clubs in Leitrim to follow. Ballinamore deserved winners on the say. Have we a Pearl Harbour on our hands??

Did anyone listen to it on final whistle when watching it?.. I couldn't believe how negative Pauric Davis was. Derek Kellegher was his usual and bubbly self but very surprised and frustrated by Davis.

Listening to Dean McGovern on the GAA podcast, he said the TG4 ones were in straight away hurrying him and pulling him to take the cup to stick to the TV schedule so guessing that's the reason.

Cup presented quickly to allow tg4 to broadcast it. It was presented again, with speeches, afterwards. See from 8 mins on https://www.facebook.com/ballinamore.seanoheslinsgaa/videos/1521279988230280/

Poor lad - to be rushed to lift a trophy that has eluded your club for 30 years. They should have been allowed enjoy their moment. - I don't think a 'bigger' county would have stood for it.

Think the commentator on last years final commented on his 3 piece suit.. Each to their own as they say.

That doesn't make him wrong regardless of what state football is in Cavan. Lest I remind anyone how long it is since a Leitrim club won a Senior Club match in Connacht and how long it was before that...

Lest I remind you Roscommon, Galway and Mayo have three of the best club championships in the country. I do believe a reduced number of teams playing in the senior championship will improve things. Don't forget it wasn't long ago leitrim had a 20 team senior championship. There are 26 clubs in the county.

Lest you remind me about other counties championships? LOL. So what?

If anything that only reinforces Hyland's comments. People gave Hyland awful hassle over his comments. Only telling the truth. No one or no structure is beyond constructive criticism. Indeed there was 20 senior teams but that madness was squarely on the county board... they let that happen and I suspect for monetary reasons at the time. At least we now have 10 and I would argue it should further reduce to 8.
