I presume this a joke. Ballinamore is the second pitch in the county so while pairc Sean is out the biggest games should be played there. Or do you suggest that semi finals and finals that involve Mary's should be played outside Carrick. As Mary's play all their big games in their home town. Pairc Sean has always been a de facto home ground for ye.

No just a pitch without dog faeces, being reasonably level and without potholes. Most other pitches in the county are reasonably good and safe. I see ye are somehow hosting the relegation final on Saturday.

See there's a game on his clubs new pitch next weekend. You'll have to go and see if up to the standard

I see Drumreilly relegated to junior, they are seriously struggling to field a team, with a number of Aughawillan reportedly heading travelling next year, could we see the an amalgamation at senior level between drumreilly and aughawillan next year. meathbasedfan (Leitrim) - Posts: 132 - 24/09/2024 09:03:27 2571551 Link 0 |

Massive Relegation final between two good teams, brought to Ballinaglera and Mulhearn reffing. Aughnasheelin suffering back to back relegations after winning the IFC in 2022, shocking seeing them down to Junior A. Losing 10,11,12 players to emigration, it's not their fault. It's only be a matter of time before these underage sides are joined at senior too. If a club is playing junior and struggling for numbers what is the delay? Share trainings and games between the different pitches so that facilities are not neglected and clubs do not feel like they are losing their identity and if clubs want to have their own academies to enter their own underage sides in the hope of going back on their own later, let them. As stated already young people have other options in life now than playing football and if they're not playing a decent standard with a chance of getting somewhere they've less reason to stick at it. Drumreilly don't have the resources to win junior and I fear for them if something isn't done

Curious how it would work.. would they be brought straight into senior level? Not a normal scenario so just wondering.

I presume this is someone from Mohill trying to stir something before the final.

Was Cloone pitch not redone recently? The 06 final was held there many moons ago.

i don't know how it'd work, but i'd imagine drumreilly definitely and maybe the willies will actually struggle to field next year on their own.

It was the pitch is looking fierce well. Parking could also be a problem there. Probably more in the immediate vicinity than Ballinamore.

Not sure what shape it in but it was always a far nicer pitch to play on that carrick or ballnamore

I see both clubs have got money in the recent sports capital grants announcement so I'd say they'll be safe enough for another year.

Cloone was always my favourite pitch to play on. Ballinamore second. Hated Paric Sean, terrible surface. The new pitch is long long over due.

If there was a transfer market between clubs in Leitrim, who would be the most sought after players? gaelsboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 579 - 25/09/2024 14:42:47 2571809 Link 0 |
In recent years Cloone's pitch had gone a bit down hill. Fairplay to them for realising this and quickly remediate the situation by resurfacing the pitch. I played on it recently and it's a fabulous surface. It's a wonder how it took the county board so long

So did the county board resurface the pitch with no fundraising? Bit of a kick in teeth asking the clubs for all that JP McManus money earlier in the year before it had even hit their account when they were going to get this grant. Fair play to those clubs that refused to pay.
