Kerry will be looking to isolate the smallest Galway defender (Glynn) at the beginning with Geaney. They did in 2014, they pulled James O'Donoghue and Donaghy out with the two McGees and left McGrath isolated from a long ball in. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kerry going for the jugular early on to get a sizable early lead in a bid to force Galway to commit more men forward and lose their defensive shape. Galway have never had to really chase a game this championship and have not needed to throw caution to the wind to any extent. If there is only a few points in it at half time you'd have tho think Galway are in with a great shout. The performance of subs will be key then. I think kerry will go for the jugular at the start because galway have had an issue with settling into the game. First 12 mins or so of the armagh game they just had a load of players in defence but no shape and running around like headless chickens. Forwards didn't know what they were doing either . Bar a handful of players the first half of the derry game we had the same issues. When they settled they were a completely different team. A team that could put it up to anyone. What I hope to see on Sunday is galway have the heads right and hit the ground running. I really think they have a great chance. Whatever happens for their own sakes I want them to leave it all on the field. Throw the kitchen sink at them and never drop the heads. They can have no regrets if they do this. They sacrifice so much and I'd absolutely love to see their hard work pay off and bring Sam west. Whatever the outcome thanks for the great season. I love to see the county go maroon. Seen them a good bit to be fair. I've been to exciting places like Drogheda and Enniskillen for league games as a season ticket holder. Now the two McGees were very experienced and Donegal got caught in the first minute in 2014. They got beat by three that day. As for your comment about Conor Gleeson, he should come and take man, ball and all. That would end teams launching high ball.

Jack certainly has got better as the season has unfolded. Made some serious interceptions in recent games. However I would not discount the post of warn on the high ball situation. Just because Derry did not try it should not mean I guess that it won't be tried the next day. D. Clifford and Geaney have height and if the latter starts (under pressure after his semi final performance) he could be the outlier with a lot to prove. We have a good full back line but they would not be the tallest. Am sure mgt have plans in this regard.

In fairness it is bonus territory now for Galway, it has been a hugely successful year. Plenty of colour in Dunmore and Ballymoe as well, best of luck to ye at the weekend.

With all due respect, bonus territory shouldn't and won't come into the minds of these lads next Sun. I remember when Galway (fortuitously) got over Derry in AI-semi 2001, the Derry manager, Eamonn Coleman was asked - what can Derry take out of this game. Exacerbated he replied - "DEFEAT!!" It won't for the players but it is for the supporters. Even if Galway lose on Sunday there can be no criticism of the team or management who have went way beyond expectations at the start of the year.

I'd agree with your comment! Good luck on Sunday, it's an All Ireland Final and I doubt Galway players will see it as bonus territory. I think football is moving into a very competitive era and great championships are ahead of us. That will make qualifying for finals more difficult, the very small margin's in Galway's QF victory would prove that, those small breaks won't fall for a team everyday. It's a long way back to a final so give it a go when you're there.

The thing is Pj & Co. have formed a team/panel that possesses all the qualities; strength/speed/skill and very importantly athleticism to win this final. I've said it before, I believe the younger team members are now wearing their adult championship hats, and it is they, who will provide the inspiration. So, it's game on !! Most Galway supporters I talk to, are feeling the same way. Imo Kerry's achilles heel, is a lack of athleticism/mobility coming down the final stretch. I also happen to think we gave a better bench. Yes once you are in All-Ireland final you are in it to win. Nobody knows when Galway may reach another All-Ireland final. I'd take Donegal for example. 1992 first ever senior All-Ireland final. bonus territory? No they went out and won even though the Dubs was hot favourites. 2012 their first All-Ireland final since 1992 were rated as 20/1 before that championship started to win Sam, again bonus territory? Agreed. You never know when you might get the opportunity again. You have to grasp it when you can. Caltra won their first and only county title in 2003. They took the opportunity from that and win on to win the All-Ireland. For a small club like that, they had a once-off team, so they made the most of it. Of what I have seen of both teams live this year I'd struggle to see past Kerry. Their subs are so good. Spillane was unreal up close vs Limerick. Their high press was unbelievable. They set loads of traps and their inside backs have serious speed.. They have Paul Murphy to come in at the back or Savage or O'Connor depending on selection. For Galway, Glynn has earned his place and for a man who didn't start the sigerson final its been some turn around. Kelly from MM can score and might goast in. I remember going to match in U21 tournament in Killmalock. All the hype around Silke and Tierney won the game for Galway... Dessie is a great club player but can he win his own ball? Should be on the team as should Eoin Finnerty based on club form. Tomo has good form in Croke Park. OLaoi is the banker to contribute. Billy is only back with strength and height to come in but other lads have more speed. Sweeney, Joyce trusts him but is he fast enough for Croke Park? You have go with speed in Croke Park.
