Unfortunately I've seen it before with Roscommon and it's not easy. Doesn't change my post about Galway hurling. I've always , as a Connacht man, supported Galway hurlers and enjoyed their great days and great team in the 80s .Galway though have a loss rate of about 80% in Senior All Ireland hurling finals which is a really poor record in big games. Similar to our neighbours in Mayo in football finals. There can be no doubt that Galway are underachieving in senior hurling if you take into account the county's underage and club success.

I hope so but I'm not sure. Our hurlers weren't just beaten, but kinda humbled against kilkenny in the leinster final. They just had us on the ropes and punched us out.
Those kind of defeats can sap a teams confidence.

These are 16/17 year olds and the GAA rightly does not want to subject them to the pressure that large crowds bring.

Also, what do you want 3 games in a row on Saturday?

Nonsense. If the GAA doesn't want to subject 16/17 year old's to the pressure of large crowds, why is this years Minor final being played at Croke Park immediately before the Senior AI semi-final between Kilkenny and A. N. Other?

Ask any 16/17 old minor hurler if he would like to play in front of a big crowd, I'm sure that the overwhelming majority would say yes.

How about this? We get the young players to play in front of large crowds...., but...., we dont keep score. That way they don't feel any pressure.

Nonsense, I'm sure those young offaly and Laois lads hated every minute of playing in front of that big crowd a few weeks ago.
LHR is really onto something I think ,we should also get rid of state exams and tests and allow every young person to work at whatever profession they wish.

Less pressure on their poor young shoulders that way.

Actually you are right. The young Galway hurlers never had an issue with pressure and won so much.

It's the senior team that should have games behind closed doors. Might help

Its amazing how some Clare people become "experts" on hurling every so often when they win a few games!

Why not? Limerick supporters are experts since 2018!

I suppose that's directed at me Tommy? I have been a posted on this forum for over 10 years, long before Clare won the All Ireland in 2013.

I have posted in the good and bad times so it has nothing to do with winning matches.

By that logic Cork fans know nothing since 2005.

Cork are one of the "big 3". We're perpetual experts!

Limerick winners of All Irelands in three different Centuries just like your own county. We have been winning them since 1897 and with about one fifth the number of Hurlers hurling in Rebel Land. So SFA unusual started in 2018.

Saturday, will we do it? Its going to be one of two performances from them and i dont mean that in a smart way. We are all expecting a kickback from KK game and id say the players will too 'itll happen for us today'.......and thats why i fully expect them to come out flat as pancakes on Saturday and drop the heads when Lehene and co get a run on them.

Yes LHR no need for the snide remarks - Clare's record of 4 AI's is nothing to write home about if you're trolling rubbish like "Galway should have games behind closed doors".
