I'd say it's more to do with needing to justify the livestream price.

On the other hand, the price of everything has gone up so it's just keeping pace with inflation. Isnt the admission just the cost of 4 pints of beer when you look at it that way?

I'll be attending the final tomorrow on what will no doubt be a cold, bleak, two thirds empty Pearse stadium (Kenny park is infinitely preferable), so it's no biggie but just out of curiosity, why does tg4 so rarely show Galway finals, football or hurling?
Both of our championships have a pretty good record in producing all Ireland finalists.
I think they've opted to show the Dublin hurling final instead.

Regarding tg4 I have a feeling that galway gaa is happy to collect the money from live streaming rather than allow tg4 broadcast

Actually the forecast at 2pm is 12°, dry and minimal wind by Salthill standards. Ideal, if the forecast is accurate.

Probably at the request of the Galway GAA to force more to go to the match. If you make it too easy nobody will go.

I'd say after the famous Loughrea and Thomas' game they're afraid to, just in case something like it happened again LOL.

They are getting way more money from the livestream than TG4 would be able to pay them. Since Covid, coverage of Galway GAA games on TG4 have been as rare as hen's teeth and it will continue like this into the future for that reason.

Ah to know the price of every thing and the value of nothing.

Strange game, kinda died out as the closing stages loomed, even though it was pretty tight. Maybe the players were tired.
The St Thomas full forward was on the receiving end of alot of abuse from his marker so was only too happy to see him score two decisive goals.

With ballyhale gone St Thomas can dream though truth be told neither team looked like potential all Ireland winners.
Cooney missed some frees that I would have scored.

That's true I suppose. Anyway CONGRATULATIONS to St Thomas's. Awesome achievement. Hard luck to Turloughmore. Nice to see David Burke back too. With Ballyhale out of it you'd have to think Thomas' would be one of the favorites.

I think you're referring to the Loughrea / Portumna final from 2006 - can't think of any infamous incidents in recent Loughrea / Thomas's games. Congrats to Thomas's today - some achievement to win 6 in a row Galway titles and they will want to push on now outside of Galway and try and win another AI title as they will feel they have underachieved in recent years on that front.

About the same as in KK and Limk over the weekend; very hard to get over 10,000 at any club final anymore.

Congratulations to St.Thomas, a machine of a team. Nice to see David Burke back motoring!

Congratulations to St Thomas's, Mullagh, and Ballinderreen on their great victories.

What makes you think O'Loughlin Gaels will be less a threat than Ballyhale?

Could be referring to 'the Johnny Maher final' I'd say, where Maher won a legion of fans countrywide for his late 'rampage' that didn't impact the scoreboard heavily, but did amuse the watching patrons, who revelled in Johnny's 'kill anything that moves' cameo spell.

Ah don't think so. It was a poor quality final yesterday, imo Thomas's put in perhaps their worst performance of the championship and yet still won. I do think they can play better and their vast experience will give them a chance but they are playing the Munster champions in the semi final and I think they'll struggle against whoever that is. A huge improvement will be needed from them, that's for sure.

I am a lifelong supporter of LK Hurling and I can assure you the crowd at a an LK Final never exceeded 10.000.

They may well be every but as much of a threat, but it's natural to feel more confident when the perceived best team is eliminated.
Kilkenny eliminating limerick in the 2019 semi would be a good example.

I'm speculating, but it could be roll of honour related. Ballyhale's 9 and 12, to OLG's zero and 2. That's allireland and Leinster club titles.
