I give Sars a better chance against Toms than I'd give Turlough against Loughrea. (Though this might read as a stupid comment in a couple of weeks time!!!)

What work is going on in Kenny Park at the moment that there are no games there ? Imagine the crowd those two semi finals would draw to Athenry compared to the crowd that will travel to Salthill. I know I won't be going anyway as too much hassle with parking etc. and possibility of getting clamped. Such a pity they can't be played in Kenny Park. Pitch is closed. Hopefully whatever remedial work may pave the way for games to be played in Kenny Park this time of the year going forward, After the "swamp" final in 2020 between Turloughmore and Thomas's I think it was only fair to move it into Pearse Stadium where you had a better chance of a decent surface. Yes devoid of atmosphere but at least the players have the best surface available.

Tynagh and St Thomas to win this year hands down, both teams are flying it. Tynagh way above the rest in intermediate. We're in second gear for most of the game against in Carnmore.

No you weren't.Carnmore put it well upto you and should have won the game but they have a young team who needs a bit of experience. You just thought all ye had to do was turn up.Win with a bit if humility.

Carnmore played well to be fair and probably better than the other three sides left. Saw Eyrecourt in the group stages they are very small, I expect us to overpower them. But let's see.

Well I stated at the start that Meelick-Eyrecourt and Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry are the two best teams in Intermediate, pity they are meeting in the Semi Final! I'm expecting a fantastic match between them with Eyrecourt to win narrowly. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2556 - 03/10/2023 15:45:00 2506818 Link 1 |
I've a feeling Turloughmore could actually win the Co. Cup this year (I could be wrong tho) Turloughmore the only Club to win 6 in a row.....I don't think they want to see St.Thomas' equal that record! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2556 - 03/10/2023 15:50:19 2506820 Link 1 |
Sarsfields didn't show up on against Thomas' last year. Think Sarsfields are a bit better now but there is nothing to suggest Toms are any worse. Burke out but Regan, Sherry and Shane Cooney back. Victor Manso seems to have take another step forward this year. Thomas' win again. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 887 - 03/10/2023 16:10:00 2506823 Link 2 |
Phelan a different option for Turlough this year though. I think you are right though, and Pearse Stadium will suit forwards. Loughrea have the better forwards, but Turlough have the better backs. Will be a cracker. I'd put Linnane on Jamie Ryan and let them tear at each other. Is mark fahy injured or has he just lost his place? Darragh Walsh looks the real deal for distribution. Hope we see Sean Loftus back. Himself and Sean O Hanlon could cause serious damage in the half forward line in Pearse Stadium GalwaysFinest (Galway) - Posts: 193 - 03/10/2023 17:08:18 2506833 Link 1 |
Can't see it, Tynagh are very strong down the middle and with Mattie Kenny in charge I can't see anyone stoping them. Believe they won the U20s this year aswell. Kinvara are very young, very hard to judge Eyrecourt off that. Believe Tynagh beat them by double score aswell.

Any team that contains Conor Whelan at intermediate level and still hammer Kinvara is a serious outfit. Different story last year because he had been away. Eyrecourt are a very balanced team, they will put it up to Tynagh. Think Tynagh will sneak it though, they have a few bigger/stronger players which will be important this time of the year. And Eyrecourt do not like semi finals GalwaysFinest (Galway) - Posts: 193 - 05/10/2023 10:31:03 2507015 Link 2 |
Do Tynagh, or Eyrecourt have any players who could contribute to the Galway seniors next season. I heard that Shefflin has been attending lots of intermediate games this season

Tynagh have a lot of talent of ex Galway players that are well documented so not going to mention them but I have been impressed with Micheal Power in midfield and Conor Jordan. Eyrecourt have John Fleming but hasn't impressed to date at centre back (out of position). PaddyBarry (Galway) - Posts: 8 - 05/10/2023 23:35:12 2507102 Link 1 |
I hope you're right about Shefflin attending Intermediate Matches as STEVE MAHON was on an INTERMEDIATE TEAM in Kilbeacanty and served the County well. I'm sure there's more like him. Find players wherever you can.

Tynagh - Ben Moran and Niall Maloney are worth a look. Other clubs St Thomas - V Manso, Darragh Burke Loughrea - Jamie Ryan, Ian Hanrahan Oranmore - Rory Burke Clarinbridge - A Niland GalwayJoe123 (Galway) - Posts: 7 - 09/10/2023 00:29:31 2507457 Link 1 |

Niland will be the big call. How soon do you bring a player that is only 17 at the moment into the senior panel? No question about the ability and he is already probably bigger physically than Evan.
