Replying To Dodgy_Pass:  "Wouldn't mind it Analyser, don't tar us all with hat brush. Any regular readers of what were the Ros / LM fora would know your posts are measured and insightful.

Have to say though it's a terribly disappointing decision to remove county fora.

Hopefully it gets reversed and the back archive restored post haste."
Why do you need a hat brush?
My post was reasonable and measured towards that poster but they decided to try and belittle me and I didn't quote anything he said either, he's not Bill Shakespeare or anything like that

Not liking the new move, It's going to be off-putting and while I understand some County forums get very little traffic, just looking at the main forum, it's a mess.

Not that bothered myself.

Very rarely used the county forum. The Tyrone threads were barely commented on. I would have liked to discuss the club scene more but there just didnt seem to be much interest.

Personally I think a lot of you guys need to get a life. Some of the comments on here are totally OTT. Talking about losing friendships, etc. Its an online forum for gods sake.

If the Tyrone Forum was very active like my own counties is I assure you that you would be annoyed.

Spoke from a Tyrone man that says nobody even used it. Course you're gonna think that with that attitude.

Many many people are of thr opposite opinion

Extremely disappointed to hear about this change and like a lot of posters will not be continuing to visit the site in future as my interest was purely geared towards my own county's forum and not the national forum. There may valid reasons for the change but for me the gaa in general is moving away from what has made it great, local games and the clubs scene. It is all about the intercounty scene and money now. Good luck all i have debated, disagreed and argued with over the last 10 years.

Admin, 142 reply's to your initial statement.

Have you any response? Is this dead in the water or is their a chance of an overturn? May I ask is this a resource issue, if there was assistance provided by members. One say in every county etc, would this help or is this a company financial issue?

Going by the outcry, i would envisage members are willing to lend a hand, I for one would assist.

A bad move. The Galway forum is what I want to read and contribute to, nothing else really. No apologies to make for that. GAA is local first, have you forgotten this, HS? Very odd move. Adieu!

Replying To Administrator:  "From this morning the individual forums in all bar two counties have been retired. The majority of discussion will be in one place, through the national forum where any topics can be discussed. There has been a growing trend towards this in recent years and with all messages individually moderated, it allows us to focus our resources more efficiently.
It's a big change, but where would the GAA world be without amalgamations?"
Ridiculous.. I propose to reinstate individual county forums Immediately...

Most certainly won't tar Leitrim posters with the same brush, Leitrim have a lot of good and very informed posters on here.

Sad day to see this from Hoganstand. I really enjoyed to look through different topics and discuss things on my county forum. I would have zero in other counties issues/players/clubs.etc etc. I think most users love this for their own county.

Only joined our Wexford forum this year and will miss it big time it was so interesting to read and how we all wished for Wexford hurling to be at the top table so much it was like reading a comic sometimes.

I don't like it either but I have a certain sympathy. What goes up on a forum can be open to litigation if not properly & constantly moderated. The responsibility is all on the site owners.
I mean, I see adventure parks and kid's playgrounds being shut down because of high insurance costs. Car insurance is astronomical, liability cover the same. We Irish do love to sue.

It is now very difficult to find the thread that I'm interested in. If only there was some way of grouping threads for people with a common interest...

I cant see the point of going on to Hogan Stand anymore.

I always go through other sites,, eg Cavan Donegal, Roscommon.

For me it is good bye Hogan Stand

See Meath forum is still open. Any others. Seems very unfair, really enjoyed the Louth forum especially in Leinster championship and more recently County Senior championship, will have to start it up again on the national forum if no change.

Replying To wexico15:  "I'd really appreciate if the administrators addressed the topic on this thread given the feedback here today.few questions I'd have myself.

1. Was it budgetary or resource reasons for the change?
2. Could you not have created a thread a week ago or at the weekend called upcoming changes advising of the change.
3. If the change is essential could you not at least have kept the old county threads as an archive but people couldn't post new comments in those threads, you'd be surprised how helpful looking at old comments can be.
4. Could you not have closed down county threads with little activity and kept the more vibrant forums. Used a metric like any county forum with 10 comments or less in the last 6 months can be discontinued. If the Wexford Forum was quiet and discontinued I'd understand but its a very busy forum, Limerick another off the top of my head, I reckon the reason certain county threads are quite is they've busy threads on boards.ie Kilkenny and Waterford 2 examples i can think of."
Maybe this move was essential but I'll add that you've basically given up your USP which is the definition of self sabotage. Again I'd appreciate some clarity from the admins on this thread.
