Move To National Forum Only Model

Replying To Administrator:  "From this morning the individual forums in all bar two counties have been retired. The majority of discussion will be in one place, through the national forum where any topics can be discussed. There has been a growing trend towards this in recent years and with all messages individually moderated, it allows us to focus our resources more efficiently.
It's a big change, but where would the GAA world be without amalgamations?"
This is a dreadful decision in relation to the website. Discussion at local level about local issues was the lifeblood of the site. It meant a lot to posters. If this is an issue of a lack of resources then just come out and say it. If the decision was arrived at for reasons other than a lack of resources then it is as I've already said a truly dreadful decision. In the GAA your club is number one. The national scene comes second.

Incredible decision which will very quickly translate into a collapse in traffic.

Doubt I will ever visit the site again.

Well said.

The Fermanagh forum enjoyed a significant viewership for a small county and many liked the club fixtures and results, and in English by the way, together with the follow up discussions. I'm wondering if the Fermanagh users will be allowed to open discussion threads specific to their county and club football?? Please respond administrator. Thank you."
Perfect response, Long time follower and recently a new poster. The Fermanagh forum was a great way to keep up with the ongoings in the county."
In fact I disagree with the kinawley guy as it's great move to remove the county forum as it will keep a certain slabber you mentioned from annoying everyone with his stupid take on Fermanagh football who wouldn't know whether a ball was pumped or stuffed!

Was good while it lasted HS ! Crazy decision. Every county final from Junior B - Senior was discussed on the Wexford forum in the last few weeks - that's whats its about. Local forum was the main reason I visited the site so i won't be back!

I highly doubt we are going to get any talk on it now. We will be one of the many forgotten counties

Bit of a bizarre thing to say. Are only posters with an incredible amount of posts like yourself only allowed to respond to you. Don't think I said anything unreasonable in fairness.

Disappointing. The National Forum is only good if you enjoy watching every thread getting derailed by inter-county biases and rivalry. The county forums were where the genuine discussions were happening. Have a look at the new thread on the national forum titled "Galway Hurling" or something like that; the initial post by a Tribesman, and every other post from someone outside the county. It's only a matter of time before it becomes a mess of slagging, WUMing, and trolling, whereas yesterday on the Galway page there was a genuine discussion going on about who'd get appointed to the manager position.

Poor choice lads.

Yes how is it wrong? You may not like it but it isn't a wrong decision for the company. Will you volunteer to moderate all the forums or pay for its upkeep?

The Westmeath page had active threads on SFC, SHC, IFC, JFC, county footballers & County hurlers and that is just off the top of my head. Too much variety there to be throwing in one thread. There wouldn't be any rounders or handball threads on the go but if you read my comment right you might pick up what I was saying instead of disingenuous replies.

If given the chance I'm sure a poster from each county section would gladly moderate their forums with the admin still in charge of the site.

It's not liked by the majority. If you don't understand how its wrong I'd feel sorry for you.

This is terribly disappointing. I am only interested in topics within my own county first and foremost. Sporadically I will will view the National forum but I would have little interest in it.

I didn't mean it as disingenuous. It was a legit suggestion. Apologies if you thought otherwise. I get what you're saying yes.

Agree, don't understand why the forums all absorbed into the national forum.

That's a fact, some1 started a thread on here last week asking what Jack O'Connor would bring to Kerry football and 2 dubs tried to turn it into a dublin thing the last post on the thread is from a dub about dublin, it's a shambles.

Please show me where I said the border is 10km wide? I'll answer the question you won't cause i never said that. I said it 10km from Whitegate Cross to Kells thats 2 completely different statements.

I don't care weather your from Kells, Navan or Dunboyne, relax have a cup of tea or coffee a few biscuits if you want and accept the reality that you're wrong.

A quick glance of this thread shows that the change has been accepted as well as the European Super League was accepted last April.

The sneering from the Limerick posters on that thread already a good example of this.

I am willing to see how this pans out, but my gut feeling is that I will be spending much less time on HS.

Absolutely gutted with this decision, always loved going on to the Donegal forum to read the comments from posters. I mainly posted on the Donegal forum and not sure I could be bothered posting on the national forum as its just full of trolls.
