By official, I mean the Tyrone County Board - not third party reports.

Why are the Tyrone County Board treating these details like the third secret of Fatima ?"
So where do you think the GPA got the figure of 50% from ?"]No idea.

I do know though that they didn't get it from a Tyrone County Board statement."]And why should Tyrone release numbers just for your benefit. They have supplied medical reports to Croke Park. That's enough.

Replying To germac:  "Right, but what is your point, I do think the powers that be should push on with or with out Tyrone , THE FACT of the matter is Tyrone have withdrew from the competition , we should take their word , and move on , BELIVE ME Tuseday or Wednesday theyll change their mind"
Correction my friend. Tyrone have stated they are not fulfilling next weekends fixture..they are not withdrawing from the competition. The decision as to whether they can participate in the rest of the championship lies with Croke Park.

Tyrone have not withdrawn from the competition....their statement states that they cannot play the match next Saturday due to the problems with covid. Over 50% of their panel are infected. Some are very sick, others aren't as bad and some have milder symptoms. If the gaa give them the opportunity to get their players back to fitness there's no doubt that they will still play the match. I would imagine from what the " word on the street is" they will be minus a few of their leading players whom are supposed to be worst hit by the damned virus. After this evening s results it would have been the icing on the cake together another cracking semi final tomorrow.

The title of this thread is a complete misnomer. Tyrone have NOT withdrawn from the semi final. They have issued a statement saying they will not be able to play in the game fixed for next weekend. That's a very different thing. It's up to Croke Park now to make the decision as to whether the game next week is rescheduled.

As a Kerryman and a medical doctor with years of Public Health experience I am totally behind Tyrone's decision to state that they are unable to fulfil the fixture. Given the current guidelines they are well entitled to adopt such a position especially as all their players are amateur and are local club members as well as being work colleagues and family members.
The real problem is the ludicrous "specialist" public health utterances. These change daily and have no scientific basis but we all have fallen for a "fear" factor and like in the Civil War turn neighbour against neighbour.

Hermann Goering stated during the Nuremburg trials when asked how his government convinced the German people to accept his regime - his response has echoes of what is now happening ..."It was easy....the only thing a government needs to turn people into slaves is fear. If you can find something to scare them you can make them do anything you want"

So here we are at a similar situation in Ireland and indeed the world. The WHO (under a brutal and oppressive Ethopian Government Minister and China backed Communist apologist) belatedly declared a Pandemic, stated "track and trace" only remedy, refused to investigate China from Dec. 2019 to Feb 2021 and in Feb 2021 accepted the limited access that China allowed and now accepts that they need more information but China (like Ulster) says no!!

So now our football championship has been upended for a second year in a row. Not a big deal in the scheme of things but all underage football/hurling and all other children's sports and social activities also upended in a similar manner. This is a huge issue for health and welfare of our people and our coming generation.

Shame on the WHO and it's morally bankrupt and corrupt leader. Shame on our lame duck Public Health Officials who followed blindly and without question.

Please let out games go on and our youth thrive. Please let us as free Irish people decide for ourselves what we do or do not want to do and not be subjugated to the oppressive "make it up as we go along" dictats offered in the name of "science". There is NO science behind all of this.

Tyrone should be free to paly whenever and wherever as should every boy and girl in Ireland today, tomorrow or at anytime. Please I beg people take a step back and think and rationalise all the forced media and governmental/NEPHET fodder that has been forced upon us without any allowed critical analysis.

I have I Masters in Public Health Degree. The bould Tony got his the same year, same class as I (1996). Doctor's do differ and I differ hugely here an the health and welfare of our future generations if this charade is allowed to continue.

Out in a field playing hurling, football, rugby, soccer, hockey, tennis or any other sport or athletic activity is where our young (and not so young) people should be and not "locked up/down" in both a physical and especially mental very confining space.

So please GAA hierarchy take the lead here. Challenge Tony and NEPHET. Ask for hard figures and validation (do not accept possible computer projections - all of which have been wrong to date). And above all give the Tyrone team and mentors the time required to meaningfully participate in our 2021 Championship. All us amateur citizens and GAA members deserve this.

Regards,

Dr. P.

Over to Croke Park now. Will they do the right thing and give Tyrone another week OR is the fact that Dublin are out freak HQ that Tyrone may actually now have a chance?

Some bluffing from Logan and Canavan. Put Dooher out in front of the press then. Canavan has a big influence in this Tyrone set-up behind the scenes. Logan mad to build a mentality in Tyrone that everyone is against them. Remember the controversy around there all-ireland u21s in 2015 which all above were involved in.

Id say that they're very high odds and I certainly wouldn't be wasting my money on them as realistically the key players who are bed ridden with the virus won't be able to play that match any time soon. Covid drains you young or old if you get it bad.

Well Paddy Power have already decided they are out. No odds at all for Tyrone for winning the championship. Does Paddy Power know something the rest of us don't??

When will a decision be made on this? surely Croke Park will give Tyrone the extra week?

I saw that. I'd say if you could get odds they would be fairly long but convinced game will go ahead as GAA will have to give tyrone the time.

a week based on current medical facts including fitness stats from monitoring will show who is affected and how badly the situation may not have improved from the initial request for postponement as stated to other posters you cannot bluff these figures as it is all logged from computer chips in players fitbits and gps/body monitoring systems every county player is now monitored with, this will prove if croke park actually care about player welfare well being or will gate receipts be the determining factor

No bluffing, just looking after welfare of players. God has nothing to do with the Tyrone setup, son plays and that's it.

Will be interesting to read the replies to this. So far any dissenting view on this issue is more often than not not just attacked but censored.
Tyrone should be given more time field a team, obviously they won't get unlimited time but a couple of weeks more

GAA stand to lose too much money if the game doesn't go ahead. They will move it now that Tyrone have forced their hand.

only clubs being inconvenienced by this is kerry, tyrone and now mayo all other counties have no excuse for not having leagues and championships in progress, as any other year club championships didnt begin till county involvement was over, in tyrone leagues are played regardless with starred games involving county players being deferred, don't here you complaining about limerick hurling club players being forgotten about because of the counties involvement in the hurling final

Your post reads like something lifted directly from the pages of that great e-book, "The Life & Times of the Immeasurable Environmentalist, D-H Rae". Is it something that's in the Kerry water?
