Hard one to call. Are Wexford on the road a bit longer than Clare? Davy and Wexford will be anxious to atone for last year's poor championship. Then, after Clare's fine performance v Tipp and the Brian/Davy factor, it's hard to call. Seemingly Brian Lohan has been saying mean things about Wexford and when the gates open on Saturday the Yellow Bellies will be like wild horses taking to the field! Well at least that's what Davy is probably saying to the lads this week..! A draw after 70 minutes. Clare will have 7 men sin-binned in extra time, all for fouls at the corner flag at a time when they had 14 men behind the ball. I dare say Wexford or Clare would love to play a Galway team who bottled it (yet again) against Dublin. Wexford lost to Kilkenny, after extra-time, in a hard fought game. I have no use for the side show that has become Wexford and Clare managers. We will need a better performance than last year, there is no doubt about that. If we can stop the Clare forwards scoring, and put a leash on TK, I give us a chance. It is possibly Davy's last hurrah if we lose, but maybe it is time for change. I thought Davy was staying one year too many. To be fair, the Kilkenny game proved otherwise. They were very unfortunate to lose that game in normal time. They could have been playing for provincial glory this Saturday but now they are playing to stay in the Championship! How fine the margins can be!
