I don't know anyone who died from covid. I know a fair few people who tested positive, and not one of them had any trouble recovering from it, most barely noticed anything, death rates were inflated, deliberately, anyone with even a passing knowledge of Dr Holohans career wouldn't trust him as far as they could throw him.
What kind of an idiot would not be even a wee bit sceptical?"
I have to agree with you on Dr Holohan his only tactic to battle covid is lockdown the country it seems. I would have empathy for his own personal situation during the pandemic that must have being very hard on him but people seem to forget his handling of cervical smear scandal. This over-zealous praise bestowed on him by the national media is a bit much, I think Niall Boylan described it perfectly when he said RTE will have him on Dancing with the stars when this is all over."]He's an abomination, typical delusional civil servant that this country is built on, shocking."]Totally correct Realdub…. Giving Holohan freeman of the city for reading a few prepared statistics of a sheet of paper…. Why not give it to Zara King as she had read out the exact same figures 5 minutes before him…and she didn't battle for years against Vicky Phelan… In this Country we love bestowing honours on those like Holohan for doing next to nothing"]As clearly demonstrated above, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

It is difficult to understand the logic behind crowd decisions. Two hundred allow in to Thurles last Sunday. 8000 allowed into Croke Park less than a week later. Travelling to four counties and from the east to the west coast. A ratio of 80 to 1 more. Does anyone know the logic ? Please for those who can attend.

The government increased the limits yesterday. There were 2,500 at both the camogie and football league finals. I think the number allowed to attend is based on the number of seats in the stadium.

Ya that seems to be some of the logic but 200 people in Thurles (60,000) does not make sense. Making the point it is 5 or 6 days on does not pass the gravy test. Also there would be only people returning to two counties not crossing the country. Like someone said on another thread there is no suggesting filling these stadiums.
This pandemic has shown the lack of leadership skills we thought existed, government included. Dare I say corruption in some cases. Hard decisions and necessary action had to be taken that was never going to please everyone. Unfortunately the amount of nonsense that has effected people's lives unnecessarily has out weighed this. One of the things that shows this is 80 billion has been transferred into profit margins of wealthy companies during covid. They are laughing all the way to the bank with reduced operating costs and using inflated pricing. Let alone getting tax payers money through subsidies.
