Time To Allow Crowds In

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I'm watching the euros on tv and it's fantastic to see crowds at games..2 matches in croke park this weekend,2500 being left into both, capacity is 82 000,who came up with that figure?it doesn't make sense to me anyway so maybe I'm stupid..this thing of triai events, not really,no testing of any sort..why are we so far behind?i got to a few club games in last week, people did social distance, had masks and hands were being sanitized..so why such small numbers in these massive stadiums and all in the open air..I know there are people whoo disagree but that is what the forum is about, different opinions..

Its one of the first trials. even with the biggest of stadiums you werent going to see huge crowds going in

in a few weeks time we will have 3/4000 at games.
The capacity is irrelevant to some extent.

Have there never been any ticket sell outs before ? Is this a new thing for Covid ?

If the news papers and media were to be believed, even one infected person walking around freely could end up with half the country testing positive within a month, unless they were exaggerating (perish the thought).

Lots go unreported. Often because the carrier has no symptoms. I've had Covid myself. I'd never have known if it hadn't been for coming up positive at a routine test.

It's no surprise to me that cases went up when we started doing more testing.

Depends on the data. It's a prime source of statistical error - drawing conclusions from data that is inadequate.

I really enjoyed lockdown. Made me realise how much time we spend rushing around doing pointless stuff like business meetings abroad, going to the open-plan office, standing bored in packed pubs with rubbish music on full volume. Lockdown helped me reset my priorities and make me realise I had been a busy fool for years.
