Replying To Bon:  "Andy McEntee claims the Meath full back was spat at in the face prior to his red card. If this is the case the culprit needs to be outed and given the mother and father of all suspensions. Its the most cowardly thuggish act you could do on a sports pitch. Given how much work has gone into getting games back up and running this year with all the covid precautions and protocols.
I am absolutely disgusted by this."
Serious allegation to make if it's not true.

Do you think if we play differently we will beat Dublin? I don't.

And Tyrone posters have never rubbed people the wrong way?? Your fierce fond of playing the "poor me" attitude about that country, I doubt your intent was nothing more than to pour salt on an open wound now being honest.

Replying To bdbuddah:  "Ye absolutely deserved the win but stretching it a bit to say you won pulling up, did you not see your goalie saving a last minute close range shot which, had it went in would have sent the game into extra time. That type of win is called hanging on rather than winning pulling up."
There weren't any winners yesterday really. The standard was shocking at times and it was a scrappy, niggly game.

Both will have suspensions and injuries from this game going into the championship. Not that it matters. The league will be the last bit of meaningful football either of these teams plays this year. It's probably the last bit of ball I'll watch anyway.

I hope there's no truth in what Andy McEntee said at the end. Given the current situation it would be a vile, indefensible act.

It won't be 99 times out of 100 but it's great stuff to watch and it's the type of ball to be playing if Dublin somehow have a mare. If only all teams played like Mayo what a sport it would be.

Serious accusation to make if its not true, serious act if it is. Mcentee can be a bit raw when it comes to aftermatch commentary sometimes, but he is not afraid to say it like it is either.
I watched it back a few times and it is evident that Mc Gill is intent on getting his man in what is otherwise handbags. He is not that type of player, I always considered him as a classy, clean player. Something rilled him.
No bearing on the result, Kildare should have won more easily, such was their dominance

Just got updates on sm. Kildare deserved winners by sound of things. Totally wrong team by Meath to start. Very disappointed but that's football, we not good enough for division one if we couldn't win this game.
I've been a huge supporter of Andy mcentee since he arrived, he has brought us on, but I think he has brought us as far as he can now, and now (end of Leinster) is time for a new voice and vision . I do want to thank Andy for his efforts. But all good things must come to a end.
Btw did campion have a chance to draw match at end ? And was there a bust up with all the red and yellow cards ?"
I hope your young lad is ok Royaldunne wishing him to get well soon.

Who knows? We won't beating them by defending like we did in the second half. Not just down to the players, Mullin should have been switched out of full back and a bigger man with some authority should have gone in to fill the fullback position.

Serious accusations for Andy Mc to make. If true and proven then the player in question should be banned as per the rule book. From the video footage available I can't see any spitting incident though. Andy is a bit like Jose Mourinho though and he is a expert in deflecting from his team and his setups shortcomings after defeat. Always ungracious in defeat and it's not the first time. Kevin Flynn got a kneed to the back of the head which was picked up though and I don't think Andy had anything to say about that though.

One the game I was happy overall. Not happy with how we seem to suffer mini collapses though but delighted we saw it out. Should have been a lot more comfortable than it was in the end though. That is effectively our objective achieved this season and we need to focus on trying to retain division 1 status next year.

There is nothing between these teams on any given day. Very evenly matched and it's been the biggest rivalry in Leinster for a while now. The days of Meath v Dublin and Kildare v Dublin being any sort of rivalry are long gone.

It is of course. Its hard to imagine that an inter county manager would make such an allegation in this day and age if it were not true.
Perpetrator should never wear a county jersey again.

Standard class from a Tyrone fan.

Bring on that hard border.

Mullin must be one of the most physically dominant full backs in the country. He struggles with the more elusive type forwards.

Standard class from one idiot from Tyrone, don't tar everyone with the same brush. I know many a decent Tyrone supporter. Every county including our own has these idiots.

He isn't 'always' ungracious in defeat. Though I hear what you're saying. He's never happy in defeat, though no manager should be. He just let's that unhappiness show like a scalded child. Hopefully he gets Meath up and running quickly ready for a crack at Leinster. Congratulations to Kildare on promotion.

We struggled when Clare put a big man in around the square, we're lucky they didn't do it in the first half. For me Mullin is wasted in the full back line. Better using his power and athleticism in the half back line or midfield running to field high ball, tracking runners, breaking up the field. He covered serious ground yesterday and wasn't walking! Maybe later in his career put him in the fullback line but I think he's hemmed in there, trying to field high ball from a standing start in a crowded area. Like having a Ferrari to drive down to the local shop when it's built for the open roads.

Ah come on. That Clare midfielder O'Neill was 2 or 3 inches taller than Aidan O'Shea. No full back could handle him 1 v 1.

We've very few options for the full back line so I can't see Mullin being played further up the pitch.
