Awards for journalism are a bit like awards for traffic wardens these days. The only people who care less about them are their own lot

I note you are unable to link anything to backup your statement, so basically you don't agree with some of his opinions, but that's about it.

Alan Dillion Fine Gael TD for Mayo ( Ex footballer) seems very worked up about the whole thing on RTE news at one. OpenStand (Limerick) - Posts: 741 - 01/04/2021 13:13:34 2335590 Link 2 |
Stander gave everything to Munster and Ireland? He was extremely well paid for it, and he would have done the same for club and country in Scotland or Wales had they hired him, let's not cod ourselves on that one. And it is right to call out this. McKenna shone a light in his articles about the issues re Dublin funding years before anyone else thought it was an issue. Dublin fans detest him because he continues to do this. Irish rugby fans detest him because he continues to highlight how the Irish media highlights their mediocrity when they win meaningless games. McKenna does go over the top sometimes and should step away from the twitter once in a while but I haven't seen any tweets today from him about Dublin that are over the top. You'll have the flipside embedded journalists sharing pics of these Dublin lads holding puppies soon. leitrimguy1985 (Leitrim) - Posts: 57 - 01/04/2021 13:14:55 2335591 Link 2 |

Should have to forfeit their last 10 Leinster titles imo. With the runners up each year taking the crown :). Only suitable punishment Meath10 (Meath) - Posts: 199 - 01/04/2021 13:27:20 2335593 Link 1 |
Provide a link? Just Google it yourself. Haven't seen you providing any links to back up your remarks BTW.

"We are all eager to return to GAA pitches with clubs and counties. But we can only do so in a safe manner. Blatant breaches of the rules such as this one, will inevitably delay a return. By sticking to the guidelines and supporting each other, we can all get back to the sports we love" You'd hardly call that statement getting "very worked up" lol. I don't agree with the residency rule in rugby either but it has been extended from 3 to 5 years, in fairness to Stander the rules are not his fault and South Africa essentially disregarded him as he was deemed to small to play in the back row for them, anyone who follows rugby in any serious way can acknowledge what he has given to Munster sense 2012 and Ireland sense 16. Weather we like it or not this element has always been part of international professional sport, all the English born players who have played soccer for us under the granny rule in the last 30-40 years, Canada's Lennox Lewis and Greg Rusedski competing for Great Britain in their sports, England's cricket team at the moment includes players born in Ireland, New Zealand and the Caribbean I think there does need to be questions regards Dublin and funding but I wise at this stage McKenna would stay away from that conversation as he would damage its credibility. bostonredsox (Wexford) - Posts: 4368 - 01/04/2021 13:36:56 2335596 Link 1 |
Agreed specifically back dated to 2011 :)

Oh I did already and there's absolutely zero to back up anything you have said so one can assume it's either false or you know more than google. You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.

This has to be the greatest April Fool's wind-up of all time. If not, and those 9 players did breach the COVID rules, the kitchen sink should be thrown at them. And then they'll have to deal, not with Farrell, but with Cluxton. If any of those guys has stepped out of line, St. Stephen will fire their asses. They'll never again wear the county jersey. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2202 - 01/04/2021 13:44:12 2335600 Link 1 |
Where did you? You haven't seen 1 comment from you on this thread with a link to back up what you've so said. You've resorted to lies!! Goodnight and good luck... bostonredsox (Wexford) - Posts: 4368 - 01/04/2021 13:47:06 2335601 Link 2 |

Sounds like a reasonable response to be fair, and he was always going to he asked about it. Some people seem to think that finding some way to be a victim justifies the actions of the dublin footballers. Fenton is the current player of the year for gods sake. The optics are terrible for the gaa. They will have to lay down a marker here, like the government did with the beacon.

Think it's looking less like a hoax as the day goes on. Particularly with the gaa getting involved now. Unfortunately it looks like it's true. Which in itself is gubu

I think if the independent had it as an April fools joke it would be a headline and headline only rather than a 3 page spread ....
