Absolutely ciarrai Mick forwards with unbelievable skill and football intelligence, nothing wrong with what Cillian does because he's brilliant at what he does and is the all time top scorer but the other forwards are or were like the Harlem globe trotters.

Class forwards alright but I must admit I would have Cillian ahead of Mulligan. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3936 - 28/02/2021 19:40:04 2333112 Link 0 |
Apologies! Nothing much to add to this apart from every time I see the title on the main page of the forum titles I keep seeing Onion_Sack (Dublin) - Posts: 301 - 28/02/2021 21:10:02 2333118 Link 1 |
Cillian would do a great job for sure ciarrai but I think Mulligan would give you more of the un predictability , out of interest what six backs of the last 20 years would you pick to mark my six forwards.

That's a tough one. If it's man markers I'd go for Marc Ó Sé Néill McGee Mick Fitzsimmons Lee Keegan Anthony Lynch and Keith Higgins. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3936 - 01/03/2021 14:02:54 2333166 Link 0 |
I'll aways remember a fella from Laois, Joe Higgins is his name, he was part of the 03 Leinster winning side, only a small lad but a serious man marker. He kind of left the scene as quickly as he burst onto it but that year he was as good as any corner back I've seen in the modern era. Did a great job on Stephen McDonnell in the quarter final that year at a time when the armagh man was the best forward in the country. Tomás Mannion in 1998 was excellent too. Oh yes Galway I remember him well. You are so right. Joe was as good a corner back I've seen in years. Tight marking and fast.I also recall the gaa fining Laois once cos Joe was captain during a big match (maybe a Leinster final) and Joe brought his twins boys with him to march behind the artane band. Gaa then fined Laois. Joe would walk on any team over the last 20 years as would their Goalie Fergal Byron . CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3936 - 02/03/2021 20:40:30 2333348 Link 1 |
