Replying To Canuck:  "Tadgh DeBurca's career could be in jeopardy. A pity for such a great player who walked o ff the field with a horrific injury. None of theatrics we see from some who get a scratch."
That is indeed sad to hear. What a warrior in the semi with his catches at the end against Kilkenny proving vital.

Hopefully we do see him again in 21.

Replying To skillet:  "He's after doing his cruciate in the same knee again.. Very unfortunate for him and more than likely going to miss next year's championship.
Real pity for such an influential player."
That is indeed an awful shame indeed. It'll be very difficult to come back from a second cruciate injury. Such an honest likable player. Hope he does make a speedy recovery.

Yes indeed. I hope he will make a speedy recovery and that Waterford will reach the promised land soon.

Replying To Canuck:  "The strengthening coaches and trainers need to answer this question. To my knowledge it does not occur as much with club players or else we do not hear of it. The strength, speed and condition of the inter county players is off the charts. Look at them. The knee is a very sophisticated joint and obviously can't take the stress. You can also add hamstring injuries to the mix. They were there in my time but the numbers again is gone crazy with players consistently limping off."
I agree. It definitely needs to be looked at. It happened to Fintan Burke in the All Irl Club Final against Ballyhale in Croke Park. A young player, not on the senior panel at the time. It seems to be a combination of overtraining/overplaying and it appears to happen more frequently on certain surfaces. It happened to Shefflin in Croke Park as well.

Surgery is not even scheduled until the end of the year. Though Henry had some bad knee injuries also and still brilliant on return. Hopefully for Tadgh.

Mike Casey more or less finished also due to a re occurrence of a similar injury- had to go off in the FInal against Galway in '18 and the replayed Club Final against Cuala and missed this years championship. He has had an operation recently but due to these injuries Dan Morrissey seems to have taken his position as number 1 full back in Limerick.
