Replying To Newyorkkat:  "So you are saying if waterford spend all there money on hurling they would have won 15 more all Ireland's. I don't think so.."
Never said that. Or neither did I say that Kilkenny interest or lack of interest in football would have made them less successful and acknowledge them as great hurling county. I just noted the difference in approach. I don't actually know what the effect it would have if we concentrated on hurling. Or neither do you. I do know we are proud of our footballers and none more than myself knowing my dad played football for Munster when it was a big deal and 40,000 plus watched these games.

Thanks mooncat. I believe the great Jimmy Lynch who I had the pleasure of working with would wish us well also.

Replying To katser:  "From a neutral Unbiased view, the Waterford half foward line are sensational and great at fielding the high ball...they have the beating of the LK half back line.
LK have failed miserably to score goals in 3 of their 4 games unlike Waterford who have scored 6 wonderful goals thus far.
Definitely the LK full back line are weak, and with the brilliant full foward line Waterford have, they will get goals.
This is a fantastic "Opportunity " for Waterford and I wish them the Very Best of Luck."
limerick fullbk line weak.?? what about the 5 goals that the galway fullforward line were supposed to get...)

Finn is probably the best cornerback in the country right now possibly excepting Barrett . Morrissey and Nash are good players too. While I'm hoping for loads of goals tomorrow my head says 3 or less between the 2 teams.

Hurling did not start in 1990.

No they havent. Clare have won 3 and we won 1 and by tomorrow Waterford or ourselves will have won another. Offaly Galway and Wexford have won four in the past thirty years, but three of were won before 2000. However at underage level what have Offaly, Wexford or Dublin won. Limerick, Clare and Waterford have won 10 Under 21 All Irelands in the past twenty years between them.

The half back/forward lines tomorrow will probably be the biggest factor, I'd say both half forward lines will spend alot of time marking each other.

As child growing up in the 80s, Waterford and Limerick were teams so unlucky, Limerick good NHL team, winning two, in 84 and 85..and loosing a few semi finals back in the day when the League was taken so seriously....Waterford would chalk up the odd win in the group stage and then be well beaten in next game...never really threatened in knock out stages of league at all back in the 80s...

This final tomorrow is novel, and I will really be torn whom to shout for...Limerick were the "Wexford" of Leinster in the Championship in the 1980's, so unlucky in some games that they really should have won...again Waterford were not in any of those "should have won" games and were early exiters each year...I was thrilled for Limerick in 2018....they are a neutrals team, and still are liked by many...if they win tomorrow, not too many outside Waterford will begrudge them....Waterford, I suppose we will have to hope will win and they havent won it since 59, and after beating Kilkenny, I am going to lend my wishes to them tomorrow...it is a strange year, and a novel All Ireland..lets hope its a great game (it will)...and Limerick will be their usual composed and workmanlike selves, Waterford will see this as an an opportunity not to be missed...no one will begrudge them if they win..great to see Kilkenny not in a final which no doubt they would figure out a way of winning if playing any team in Ireland...Good luck to both counties tomorrow...great for hurling....

Yes you are correct, taking away the big 3, lenister teams have won more all Ireland's that munster and that is not including Galway. Enjoy the game tomorrow, I will be hoping for a Waterford win, but I do not think that is going to happen.

Serious question. When was football last big in Waterford?I lived in south Tipp before so I am familiar with the region and how hurling is so dominant in tipp bar around clonmel region and waterford the same..but never knew there was a time when football mattered to ye? that is not sarcasm or anything I just know very little about waterford football
history.

Anyway, best of luck to ye tomorrow. Waterford have always been the hurling team I support as an old ex of mine from many moon's ago had a waterford mother from just over the waterford side of the river in Carrick on suir and to this day I feel her pain of close calls. The tears that poor lady seen, Galway final comes to mind in particular.... I hope ye get over the line. 1959 has been a while as 51 has been for mayo. I would love to see the underdog double. two bridesmaids who need marriage.

Best of luck to both teams today. Despite having a Limerick mother I really wouldn't begrudge Waterford the win today. If deserving an All Ireland had currency Waterford would be billionaires.

Well it wont be more this evening- it will be the same and I have to say that the lack of under age success in Dublin. Offaly and Wexford is deeply concerning. Even when Limerick lost to Galway, Offaly and Wexford we were not begrudging of them, although disappointed. The deterioration of Offaly and the failure of Dublin to win an Ireland in living memory, even after having good minor and under 21 squads, is very serious. The Big Three might regard winning a national title at what we might call second levels as of little importance, but when counties are down a long time it keeps the flame aglow. After an atrocious beating to Tipp in 2009 and a subsequent strike I will never forget how people celebrated beating Cork after extra time in an epic U21 Final in 2011. It simply gave us a bit of hope, when Limerick badly needed it. Cork won their last League and U 21 Title in 98 and their last Minor title in 2001 and maybe that is why they are unusually struggling at senior level.
