Replying To cavanman47:  "It is in Leinster.

In All Ireland finals, of the 9 games Dublin have played in the last Decade, 2 were won by more than 3 points.

In semi finals (11 games), 4 were won by more than 5 points. The other 7 were drawn, lost, or won by 5 or less."
Yes. it is leinster that's was my point.
We should all go down on bended knee. for the close finals Dublin played between against Mayo and Kerry. Them close matches where worth waiting all year for...

I hope Cavan get every bit of luck going and put up a good display.
I don't know is there a problem on viewing this topic my phone but has there really been no posts on this topic in the 5 days leading up to this All Ireland semi final?, it's sad for the competition if posters think the All Ireland semi is that uncompetitive they can't be bothered commenting on this topic.

There's another 2 threads, 1 on the 2 semi finals and one on this game. So it's been discussed plenty.

Funny I'm feeling no buzz about this game at all, I think Mayo v Tipp will be better to watch, the more I think on Cavan v Dublin it's a miss match when you really study it.
I just don't think Cavan are going to be able to hold Dublin, they are just too good all over the field, I hope it's not over by half time and I hope Cavan do well but I just think it's going to finish up being a bit of a hammering.
I'll check back this evening but I'm saying Dublin by around 15 points at a canter.

Should be an easy win for Dublin in the end.
If Cavan go defensive then Dublin will do to them what they do to Tyrone, stretch them and wait for holes top appear in the defence.
If Cavan go attacking then Dublin will love it, and would have too much firepower for them.

Cavan will try defensive setup and hopefully if weather is not great then handling be more difficult and easier to disposes in the tackle. Also have to hope Dublin have a slight off day with shooting but doesnt happen too often.
They might have a chance with long, high ball in and create bit of mayhem and get goals, it can happen but need the ball to fall for you.

Best of luck to Cavan today. I think people are really underestimating this Cavan team and I feel confident they will put up a good show. I am not for a moment suggesting Cavan can beat Dublin but think they can keep it close. Dublin are just fantastic, dont think they have any weaknesses in their team. To have players like Brian Howard and Paul Mannion on the bench sums up how good they are.

In 2003 Tyrone went to HQ and were given little chance against a Kerry team hellbent on atoning for a 2002 final loss.

Tyrone threw out the play book and hit Kerry with something so grotesquely effective that some in the Kingdom have never really gotten over it.

Tyrone didn't care about the effect on their reputation in the football world either. Cavan will need something similar tonight. Leave the field hated but victorious.

Best of luck to cavan today really hope they give the dubs a game and really think they are more than capable of this.

Donegal where tipped to be the team to beat Dublin by many this year Cavan played them off the pitch for majority of the game and with 14 men for 50 of the 70 minutes.

Really think key is to stop Dublin scoring a goal early and to frustrate them by all means. Cavan also can't afford to have any black cards today need full 15 on pitch for full 70 minutes.

Also worth noting Cavan are a big physical team with majority over 6 foot tall especially in forwards.

If there's is a slight and I mean ever so slight weakness to Dublin team is a lack of height in back line. Hopefully Cavan can exploit this.

Anyways best of luck and hopefully we get a good game that is at least close in the end.

Looking forward to this, we haven't played Cavan during this era of success and if we win its another county to hang over the fire place. A prestigious one at that, ive huge time for Cavan as a footballing county.

Best of luck to both teams,

Dubs need to be on it as Cavan will bring fire in the first quarter, if we are one or two points behind on 15, i think we will kick on from there, a draw or better then id be very confident.

Hardly. I'd say 31 counties will be shouting for Cavan this evening.

It's a disgrace there's an Ulster ref in charge! !

I hear he goes fishing in Cavan and loves the pork sausages from the local butchers in Shercock..

;)

Tyrone team that had won the division 1 league for 2 years and stacked with underage talent.
