Replying To moc.dna:  "Terrible decision to overturn CC red card.
Undermines the officials & makes the linesman appear to be incompetent or that the officials story wasn't accepted.
Sends out a message to children watching the game or looking up to the Inter County stars, that it's ok to allegedly abuse officials & that you will get the punishment rescinded.
No surprise though when you have Dublin John steering the ship, in fact when you consider that the head of the GPA, GAA are Dubs & the DG a Dublin club man, is it any surprise.
Most games at home in Croke Park (footballers play there more than in Parnell Park), same warm up end, same dressing room (alphabetical thing is bullsh#t) allowed dominate Hill 16 for big games, sponsorship levels from the biggest corporate set ups mostly based in Dublin that no other county have a hope of achieving, stratospheric funding from Central funds, Govt & Leinster Council & even in a pandemic where no fans are allowed, Leinster counties can't even get a home game.
Cavan dismissed by Alan Brogan for daring to ask about playing the Dubs outside Croke Park, Alan Brogan must think he is running the GAA now after getting the gig at Croke Park. Cavan &Dublin could have being played in a neutral venue. Mickey Graham is a great manager but his team are up against a great team but have also to deal with all the other advantages which makes their task impossible. Let other counties & their towns that are struggling financially get a financial pay day from having games hosted in those towns hat are on their knees.
It's a joke, I blame the other counties & their Congress delegates for not having the balls to tackle this (bar the Donegal Chairman), they are all too worried about getting crumbs from the top table or advancing their own advancement within the GAA, than calling it out for what it is.
Dublin footballers are the greatest team in GAA history & play lovely football & are a joy to watch, nothing should detract from the fact that they are a great team but it should not be ignored that they have a number of advantages that others will never be able to access, making it even harder for others to close the gap.
Level the playing field !"
A lot of geniuses on here that seem to know exactly what evidence was presented to the CCC, did I miss something was the meeting broadcast on the web? Everyone assuming that the linesman was not believed, maybe so? Just for example another possible scenario. The ref's match report facilitates the ref to include comments on match incidents if warranted. When Costello spoke with the officials immediately after the game, maybe his explanation put doubt in the officials minds as to what he said or who he said it to and this doubt was included in the report.
It was an unusual red card, I don't believe anyone expected a red at the time, but now a lot of people seem to think it was a definite red and also seem to know what evidence was presented to CCC, like I said Geniuses.

Nobody claiming to be a genius, but its fairly obvious you will never be one.
Read the posts slowly maybe, no where did I say that I knew what evidence was produced, I even used the word allegedly.
You then go on to create another scenario without any of the evidence you called for, laughable.
Fact is a man was issued a red card for what allegedly looks like abusing a sideline official, the possible 12 week ban is then rescinded by the CCC.
So either it is a case of total incompetence by the officials completely wronging CC, in which case they should never officiate again or else it is a case of the CCC & Croke Park overturning the officials decision which would be disgraceful as it sets a precedent & shows that the highest authority within the GAA in charge of discipline don't believe in protecting officals from verbal abuse.
CCC & GAA never disclose anything in relation to disciplinary events but it would certainly help with transparency & explain why decisions were made, either way one of the two parties has being hung out to dry by the GAA.

Can you read my post, "just for example another "possible" scenario". I am not assuming this is correct, just a possibility, I don't know. Bottom line we don't know what was brought to the CCC, most importantly we don't know what was in the Referee's match report, so we cannot assume as you said that the GAA and the CCC condone abuse of officials,

Awful shame cavan people won't be allowed to attend this game but having said that I doubt it would be very enjoyable for them considering who theyre playing.

Suggestion in Saturdays Times that the Referee's report "may" have stated that the card was issued for "remonstrating forcefully with a match official" which is sanctionable by a black card (rule 5.13) rather than rule 5.34 " using threatening language to a match official" which is sanctioned by red. In other words maybe the referee made an error on the day or an error in his report.

I would love Cavan to win. But if there are to lose. Which unfortunately I believe they will. I hope they lose by 20+. Not because I am anti Cavan but just to show the farce that football is lately. Same with the All-ireland final should Dublin be in it I hope they win by a cricket score.
This farce where Dublin get one game decent game a year is a joke and boring as hell. 15 out 16 leinsters 7 out 9 All Irelands. I the seriously hope the GAA do something. Before Dublin win 10 in row or maybe someone might stop them wining 10 in a row wouldn't that be fantastic.....

Stop that ***. Dublin are far better on paper but if Cork can do Kerry give Cavan a shot. They bet donegal who were seen as AI contenders after the dubs and they bet us. Give a bit of respect. I'll watch this match believing Dublin will win but cavan might do a miracle, why not. They haven't done anything that proves otherwise in my opinion. Huge underdogs but that is it. I hope they have a fiver for a 4 cans of cider in aldi if they win. Best of luck to them.

Don't worry, they won't win by 20+. It's not a Leinster team there're playing running round chasing shadows. GAA could do something , especially in Leinster, get Dublin to play with an arm down the inside of their jersey and you have to kick the ball with your heel.

Meath played Wicklow a lot in recent years the most the spread was about 6 points. And Meath very lucky to win to previous meetings. By a flukey goal 2014 I think it was So the last game was NOT the norm. Dublin slaughtering everyone in sight for the guts of 10 years is.

It is in Leinster.

In All Ireland finals, of the 9 games Dublin have played in the last Decade, 2 were won by more than 3 points.

In semi finals (11 games), 4 were won by more than 5 points. The other 7 were drawn, lost, or won by 5 or less.
