I've been saying the same for years in that I honestly don't see how they rescue or redress the situation. It's a shame as the Football Championship used to be something I looked forward to each year - now it is just boring as you are pretty sure of the outcome before it starts. Dublin's first free was one of the easiest I have ever seen, Johnny Cooper escaping a black card and Thomas Galligan denied a penalty with Dublin leading by 1-21 to 0-12. Great year for cavan well done. Beaten by the all Ireland champions is no shame at all. Hard to compete when clubs like kilmacud crokes have more funding than cavan senior team.
