Replying To fullbach:  "Meath played a decimated Carlow side ... 6 of our players out , Brendan Murphy, Sean Murphy red, Chief scorer Paul Broderick injured after 7 min Gannon injured, St Ledger and Eoghan Ruth blacks.

I would predict an 8 point win for Laois."
That's some creative mathematics there chief, Carlow were missing 1 player, Brendan Murphy through suspension. The other 5 players who were 'out' started, 2 were victims of circumstance and the 3 others were rightly shown the door.

Laois could beat us by 8 though, who knows, but if they do there'll be no complaints or excuses.

Meath can only beat whats in front of them, we won by 15 points despite never getting out of second gear, expect a big improvement from us for this one, meath by 5

Ahh sure if I wasn't getting the thumbs down I'd be doing something wrong.
See you on Sunday, looking forward to a good game and obviously a Meath win."
May the best team win Sir! I enjoy your passion.

Replying To Laoisvillian:  "That the one in Dr Cullen or the final in Croker Crikey?

Neither a game for the neutral!

Laois were a bit naive I thought for the match in Dr Cullen last year, but had Carlow well sussed by the league final, being patient and holding shape until scoring opportunity came.

A lot will be needed from Laois midfield at the weekend to feed our inside forwards, I worry about our half forwrd line."
The match was at O Moore Park in March. Quigley came on in the second half.

Best wishes to both teams today, particularly Andy Bryan and Donal. First championship game in Croke Park in a long while. Time for this Meath team to bury some ghosts of past one.
Hon the royal.

Car parked up and on the train up now. Should be a good one, both teams will go in with confidence what with promotions in the league. It should be a step up from our first 2 championship games. I think it will be close but Meath will finish strong to win by 5.

No arguments here, best of luck to Meath in the final, really hope you put it up to the dubs now.
Think the 11 point difference in the end was a tad harsh on Laois as I think on balance of play they were closer than the score line suggested. Meath far more clinical though with their chances.

Good solid win there Meath, we couldn't even score a goal today and only for GOAT we would've been in trouble, think time has caught up with us, Meath probably slight favourites now!

Bryan Menton was excellent for Meath all day, not just with his 2 goals. Himself and Fenton will have a great battle in the final.

Thanks for that and good luck in the qualifiers.
I'd agree the score line suggests that the game wasn't as close as it was at times. And Laois was closer to us than that margin.
I can't speak for Laois, but we seemed sluggish at times and made a few basic errors. For cos to drop the ball over sideline with no one near him was criminal, and I'm just taking that specific point, there was others and in fairness cillian redeemed himself after. That performance won't trouble dubs (that been said is there any team that would?) but we move on and hopefully we can put in our best performance this championship in Leinster Final.

Menton was very good actually excellent, But there has to be a mention for the pocket rocket james Conlon. What a player, what a prospect. He took his debut start with both hands.

4 or 5 points from play. Not enough to win at this level.

Laois were hard to shake and considering they dominated the middle majority or chances were snuffed out.

Meath kicked just as many wides as Laois and had 5 or 6 short into keepers arms.

Anything in around a 10 point margin was fair

I don't think it will work like that. A good player like Menton will be trying to plug gaps that will be appearing elsewhere so he won't be able to concentrate on Fenton. He'll end up looking average which won't be a true reflection of his ability. Dublin will just have too much across the board for talented individuals like Menton or Keogan to shine. And afterwards some fans will make a clichéd comment like, 'Menton didn't show up today, was in Fenton' s pocket all day. Bottler.' etc etc. Used to hear fans make comments like that about Graham Reilly when he was at his peak four or five years ago. It's the nature of the beast unfortunately.

Agree, not much happened for Laois today. Giving away a penalty before half time was a killer for ye, also ye had 2 good goal chances in second half, one off the cross bar and the other a good save.

Congrats Meath and good luck in the final.

Match received NO ANALYSIS on SG. Instead we had waffle about the O'Sés having more appearances than the Cluxton family. Bizarre.

Yeah I was impressed by Conlon, has the ability to get the shot away under pressure which is great.

Great performance, particularly in the first half when Meath's other forwards weren't really at it.
