Mullin's AFL club claims Mayo tried to bring him home for final

Oisín Mullin’s AFL club has claimed that the Mayo management made a last-ditch attempt to bring him home to play in the All-Ireland SFC final.
Geelong Cats coach Chris Scott told the ‘Fox Footy’ AFL360 show that the former Young Footballer of the Year had been approached about the possibility of lining out against Kerry. The claim comes after Mullin spoke of his desire to play for his club Kilmaine this summer if his schedule allows for it.
“Oisín Mullin had taken a phone-call from the Mayo coach just planting a seed about possibly after our game against Melbourne on Friday night that he might be able to pop over to Ireland to play in the final and then come back,” Scott smiled.
“This is, bearing in mind right in the period where we have three weeks where Oisín is going to play on.
"Then the next week he has (Collingwood) and the next week after that plus an All-Ireland final! We were kind of open to the conversation.”
As it transpired, Mayo won the All-Ireland without Mullin who signed for the Cats in 2021.
