Well it's their way of justifying to the rest of the world and the rest of the world stands idly by giving lip service, all because they are afraid of their lives to upset a certain group of people and don't want to be accused of being antisemitic

The US alphabet agencies are saying Iran is not building a bomb or at best years away from it. There were 3 strands to that agreement, not all followed up on properly. It's so long ago. Nobody is taking about a united Ireland now though, it's dead in the water. For example, if so called nationalist parties were serious about a United Ireland they would organise massive peaceful protests now, or do something political.
