That is true I suppose but still a decent manager it would seem and has an eye for winning silverware. That toome team struggled last year and he completely turned the ship around it would seem.

An "eye" for silverware alright hence why he left a senior club (who were always going to struggle to stay senior) to go to a strong junior club……as for completely turning toome around that give me a giggle… junior football is terrible this year and toome were always going to be in the mix for promotion, let's see how great he does in intermediate next year unless he leaves them to take emyvale out of junior….

Attended both junior finals this weekend. I think both winners will contest the junior championship final in 2026!! farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 56 - 20/10/2024 18:45:27 2576020 Link 0 |

Quality very poor alright, Aghabog will be kicking themselves throwing away league final yesterday. Intermediate will have big gulf in class next year between top 6 teams and bottom four teams you would think. currinman (Monaghan) - Posts: 39 - 20/10/2024 19:17:53 2576034 Link 0 |

Well done Drumhowan today best trained team in junior this year, they shud of won today by alot more than score line showed same as the semi final against Toome. Toome will be kicking themselves as this year was a serious chance of winning a championship but they very lucky to be going up at all as only for a big goalkeeping mistake by Aghabog they were in big trouble. Any word on any management departures for 2025 season CTC6 (Monaghan) - Posts: 29 - 20/10/2024 22:17:39 2576056 Link 0 |
I was in scotstown at the games yesterday. Fair play to Cremartin on the minor win and also well done to Drumhowan. They have struggled to finish games strongly this year but I do think they are a good outfit. I could see them in senior in the next two years with the right management and playing style to suit them. No word on any management departures yet, it will be interesting to see who takes over aghabog.

County final week. You've got Clontibret who are one third of a parish (that entire parish being smaller than Tydavnet) VS the amalgamation of Tydavnet, Scotstown, Ballinode, Knocktallon and Jack McCurrin. HB245 (Monaghan) - Posts: 247 - 21/10/2024 11:07:41 2576115 Link 0 |
Unfortunately not - this will be another one sided affair. MuineachanAbu (Monaghan) - Posts: 660 - 21/10/2024 11:31:35 2576124 Link 0 |
Tydavnet is just 1 parish. Funny this was never a problem pre 2013… it's only when a club starts winning! They won't mind though … giving out on here won't change anything! If it makes you feel better though …

Don't think it was a problem tbh until the poaching started. Remember, there was never a problem with Dublin until the finance's started surfacing…….

Not many will give them a chance but likewise in 2014 and 2019 in my opinion. They are probably the only team who can get it right against Scotstown. And I am sure Scotstown know it won't be as easy as people on here make out. Scotstown definitely the favorites and understandably so, they have a strong strong team but Clontibret ain't bad either. They didn't cruise to a semi final by being bad. Hopefully it is close and a good watch for a neutral. Match ups are going to be very important with Hughes brothers, Jack and Carey all up front is hard to watch. These 4 in particular will need quare watching. I believe Beggan is the most important player on the scotstown team, stop them going short and he will bomb it 70 yards to the half forward line. I am unsure how a team can overcome this. They've big men in the middle too with McCarville and McPhilips who can handle themselves but Hughes and Greenan from Clontibret can match them, but they have many ball winners around that middle 8. Clontibret have a few men who will need watching also. They have pace and plenty of running in them. All we can do is wait to Sunday evening and see how this fairs out. Hoping for a good watch and hopefully a good display of football after watching chronic junior final yesterday (storm did not help). Hoping the Intermediate final is good on Saturday also. countymonaghan (Monaghan) - Posts: 283 - 21/10/2024 12:56:49 2576150 Link 0 |
No chance of an upset… the thoughts of yet another year without an ulster club will drive this group over the line on Sunday….surely this group can't face another miserable failure….

I'd imagine there will have to be a change in aghabog coming for the next year. Will Lennon stay with emyvale after their season?
