Donaghmoyne V Clontibret a very tough watch. Clontibret were abysmal and still won, so I don't know where that leaves Donaghmoyne. They were 2 points up 5 minutes into the second half, playing with a gaol force breeze and Clontibret had a man sent off. Donaghmoyne will be kicking themselves as the most likely scenario, barring a surprise result, is another year in the relegation round-robin. Should they be doing better? It's one of the biggest parishes in the county and they won 3 (I think) minor Division 1 championships from 2014-2017 (rough estimate) and all they have to show for it is a couple of intermediate championships, with zero impact in the senior championship.
Garland looked dangerous every time he got the ball and I'm really looking forward to seeing him, hopefully, for the county next year. I'll make a bold prediction that he'll start championship games for us next year if he's given a fair chance.
Killian Lavelle outstanding for Clontibret. Francis Hughes impressive also. Of the non-county lads on show, Darragh Hughes of Clontibret hit a couple of incredible scores and Declan Courtney was impressive from start to finish for Donaghmoyne

A few big shocks in the Senior championship today. What has happened Ballybay this year? A poor league showing and a terrible result last week and tonight. It's the same team this year as last year so no excuses. Games don't get any easier for them either. Could they be in a relegation battle? Fair play to Aughnamullen a strong display from them today.

As with Ballybay, Truagh look to be in a bit of trouble this year. A lot of football to be played yet and Corduff are a well organised team but a poor showing from Truagh today against a team just out of Intermediate.

Truagh suffering badly from a change of leadership - the brain drain at committee level since the county final has lead to an exodus of talent from the playing squad unfortunately. Corduff are a well drilled outfit - plenty of help coming for all directions on the sideline…

Ye, football at club level is a simple game. Get a group of lads buying in, get a game plan together, work hard and get good men in around the management and coaching set up. Scotstown ans Clontibret won county titles with that. You need a good committee behind aswell.

That's a very bold prediction and one that won't come true. Garland will never cut it at county level.

Senior Championship getting interesting. Ballybay on 1 point and latton and Truagh to play, Wylies seem to be out injured.Latton at home will be hard to beat.
Corduff are flying and not surprised with the resources they have, nothing seen at club level in ever before. Top S&C coaches, nutrition and a Mason Greenwood type coach involved. But these things can be said

Inniskeen the most impressive team in Senior so far. They dispatched an ordinary Magheracloone with minimum fuss on Saturday evening, showed good variety in attack and a hard edge in their play. But we have been here before as regards Inniskeen. The Donaghmoyne game next weekend will be a better test.
Corduff's results so far look impressive on paper, however Truagh and Ballybay are all over the place just now. Aughnamullen's young lads played Ballybay off their own field on Sunday. The Corduff Aughnamullen match will be tasty.

Donaghmoyne gradually getting better after a lost decade previously, Saturday was diasapointing but at best there a mid table club in senior and are still finding there feet. Although they could be in a spot of bother in Inniskeen sunday. Minor football in monaghan is deceiving, many clubs have tasted success at that level but havent pushed on, look at the demise of harps and a few other, it gurantees very little. Interesting take on d Garland, class player but county seems a bridge to far for him unfortunately.

Pretty sure other clubs have been operating at this level for a long time!
