In fairness regarding the Croke park thing Glen Ryan was only saying what half the country are saying.
I agree with your point about the whole siege mentality thing tho. The roscommon manager said something similar about them being "disrespected" or something to that effect before their game against us.
As a motivational tool it's very boring and cliché at this stage and I'd say half of these managers own players probably don't even take it seriously any more.

Well Glenn complained after the Croke Park game which Kildare lost by 2 pts and which Kildare were leading all the way up to 65th min. He more than suggested that Dublin won because the game was in Croker.
Then a few weeks later the Dubs wipe the floor with Kildare down in Nowlan Pk. So, whisper it, maybe Glenn was wrong and maybe Dublin won the game in Croker on merit because they pushed on in the last 20 minutes and would have done the same on any pitch.

Incredible end to the minor football quarter final between Dublin and Cork. Dubs came back twice from 6 down to level in injury time and then score a goal in the last minute of injury time.

Fair play to them for sticking to the task, but you would have to feel for Cork.

Cork were certainly the better team in the first half but Dublin dominated the last quarter and had been coming back before the Cork penalty. Cork seemed to tire perhaps.

Ref was good and let play flow. Cork perhaps have had good shout for a free when turned over in move that led to goal although it was consistent I suppose with his overall allowance for physicality that was not dangerous or pulling and dragging.

Towards end of game,Cork's number 13 pulled down by Dubs number 7 and free awarded to Dublin? I've given up at this point.

Anybody know how referees calculate added time? Referee today played 7 minutes injury time, whereas referee in the Cork Limerick hurling game played 4 minutes, in a game with far more stoppages. Is there any formula for calculating injury time, or just depends on a referee's whim? Referee at minor game today was brutal, gave a free out to Dublin allowing them to equalize, after a Cork forward was blatantly pulled down. And the GAA's CEO is wondering why Gaelic football is unwatchable?

He had allowed play continue after similar incidents on both sides. Indeed, he had not given what might have been a Dublin free in not long before that. But yes, many refs would have penalised Dublin for the incident you refer to.

Anyone know what way the minor semi final draw works out?

Derry look exceptional with Monaghan not far behind them. final could be repeat of Ulster final.

Think it's Dublin v Derry and Kerry v Monaghan. The Ulster teams do look very strong.

Derry play Dublin in semi.

Thanks for that. Dublin would need to improve hugely to beat Derry i think. And indeed would fancy Monaghan to beat Kerry as results today would suggest little between Dublin and Kerry.

Yes I accept your point regarding that incident but we all see the bad calls against our own team so for balance just before that incident a Cork defender rolled the ball on the ground with his hand and then picked it clean off the grass, right in front of the ref, should have been a tap over free but no, play on???

1 free is hardly a reason to label it as unwatchable. Compared to the senior spectacle these days, it was great. Lots of errors, yes, but decent tempo. Cork struggled with Dublin's intensity in the second half. I don't think they scored anything from the 40m or so. Dublin were layering on scores then. Could have gone either way but Derry will eat Dublin in the semi if the play like they did in that first half.

Unbelievably well done to turn mini Dubs

Great comeback and real nerves of steel, classy way to win a game

Great entertainment which Cork played an equal part in, unlucky, very good performance.

Delighted for the young lads, class game.

A word too for the referee.. I thought he had an excellent game and thankfully refrained from running around with one arm stuck up in the air like some of his counterparts during senior matches…!"
Don't forget these are 16/17 year old kids !!. Everyone can have an off day, which I think alot of the Dublin players did. Both the Dublin, Cork and all the other kids at minor level work their butts off with pure dedication to the sport, might think of that before posting comments !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said, people should be mindful these are kids, important not to single out players. The impact these comments could have on a player if they have access to this forum. What on earth are you on about…. No player from either side was singled out or even mentioned… The ref got a positive reference.., You would do well not to post rubbish like that….
