Who's the madden? Six U20s on the Leitrim senior panel is Brian Cull,Eanna McNamara,Jack Foley,Ben Guckian,Darren Cox and Paul Honeyman and all are named to start tomorrow according to the Connacht GAA published team.

Replying To gaelsboy:  "I do not think there is any merit beating that drum anymore. if the rules say they cannot play Saturday if they play tomorrow then so be it, I think they should play at their level because i doubt if them playing will affect the eventual result on Saturday, as much as an addition they will be. cannot wait for mgmt's sorry excuses Saturday evening."
The excuses are well rehearsed at this stage. This year is a complete write off. I cant wait until its over. L

apologies i meant McNamara. i thought Guckian was injured. it seems fake teams in programmes is the norm nowadays so it'll be interesting to see.

I can see changes coming tbh. What went on this year isn't acceptable. It can only get better.

Agreed, the senior manager should be treated like a senior manager and not have the U20s management interfering

U20s should be left to that grade until their competition is over. No senior team should be relying on 5 or 6 players under 20 to start for the seniors.

When so many opted out from last year others club players aged 21 to 26 should have stepped in to fill the void.

Can we still qualify tonight if other result go our way ? Maybe the scoring bonus point will come into play ?

Those club players aren't anyway near intercounty grade.
6 lads are too many but many other teams have u20s playing senior too.

I'd say the sooner that campaign ends the better instead of prolonging the misery.

Conceded 6-17 tonight to Roscommon to go along with the 5-16 against Mayo and 5-17 against Sligo.

So 16 goals and 50 points conceded in the last 3 games! It's absolute madness what's going on.

I see a poster above says things will have to change next year. I hope so.

We are in a real danger now, I believe, of losing every game played at inter county level this year across minor, U20 and senior. So far I make it that we have played 14 and lost all 14 so far, and another defeat lies in wait on Saturday. Unless the minors can beat Sligo on Friday we could be 16 played 16 lost by the weekend.

It's like we are the football version of that old famous book "No one shouted stop!"

A Mayo man an expert on which Leitrim club players aren't good enough? there is a reason why players over the age of 20 aren't committing that needs to be addressed first before moving forward.

That was utter nonsense from Poacher to not allow U20s play for the U20s tonight.

What's a person based in UK on about so?
What benefit would it have been having those lads playing, it was a dead rubber game for Leitrim.
The management were carrying such a big panel they had to give the fringe players game time or else why keep 38 on the panel?
If there's 10 lads in each year that are of intercounty standard Leitrim would be well ahead of the curve.

Serious questions have to be asked about what went on in the U20 setup for the last 6 months if Leitrim are to address how so many goals were conceded in 4 games. Score lines not too far off what's happening in the U15 Division 1 League

there was lads played last night that were only brought into the U20 panel in the last few days. we're in such a bad place all round.

That's really not great but then at least the fixture was fulfilled. That's what we have to think now.
There is always a few fringe players who drop off when there is only dead rubber left and they hadn't been getting near the team.
Couple that with the 6 being pulled, injuries and you have another walk over looming.
It's a write off.
But fairplay to those who go out and play in these circumstances against reigning champions.

We have to move on to Friday / Saturday

Replying To JimmyNail:  "Unfortunately ì agree. Record defeat was by 24 points to Mayo in 2021 and again to Mayo I think in the 70s too. Looking like Saturday will be a massacre Unfortunately. Any word whether Barry McNulty and few other injured players will be available? Be great to have a look at the new pitch in Pairc Sean but that's as good as the day will get for us."
Looking forward to seeing the pitch for sure.
Are we putting back in the padded goalposts.?
I always thought it strange that it was the only gaa field I had seen them in. But as you get older, they seem like a wise addition.
The Kiltubrid pipe band are always worth seeing. They really add to the occasion. It's such a shame that they parade in front of increasingly empty terraces these times.

Try and get in to support our team folks.
