Replying To foreveryoung:  "Poor ould Leitrim! It's down to size now. Look at little Louth, the smallest county in Ireland. I don't hear them complaining! I do see them winning though.

Roscommon is a decent footballing county with some great individual players: Enda Smyth, the Murtaghs, and Ultan Harney. I know those names well. I know no Leitrim player off the top of my head!

So, less focus on what Roscommon can't do, and more focus on what Leitrim could do, might serve the county better!"
Of course you know the Roscommon players better. They get more airtime etc so that's obvious. If you're from Leitrim and you don't know the players that's on you really. If you're not from Leitrim and you don't know them it's no big deal. I can't name many players from division three or four teams either. I think we will survive you not knowing our players but thanks for your insight.

Little Louth with two towns almost at city size and a population of 139,000 is it? What have you seen them winning BTW?
Oh now you know all about Roscommon seeing as you're from there. You aren't really fooling anyone. The baffling part is why you bother coming on our thread if we are so irrelevant. Strange behaviour.

Replying To boxtyburgerbuns:  "what's all this about 'baccy'? Such rubbish. Roscommon is twice the size of Leitrim, it isn't comparable by any means. Longford is. Roscommon have also struggled to translate underage success into any senior improvement. Being a yo yo div 2 team isn't the measure of success in fairness."
Before you say why's a Roscommon man on here, i look at all teams in connacht to see what's happening but we aren't a county that should be in division 1 on population or anything like that. Ourselves and Monaghan are punching well above our weight. Leitrim are doing great things at underage and it needs to continue for anything to happen. Ye have some brilliant young lads coming through and if ye keep that up at underage it's surprising how far that will bring ye. We were in division 4 in 2010 and division 1 in 2014 just from getting underage right and ye are in the right road right now.

See what? Very few here would argue against such a reasonable post.

Agree with you. Post is reasonable and not in any way sneering or condescending. Don't know why anyone would have an issue with it. Some people seem to find fault where there is none and hope to stir up an argument for no reason.

The eye sees what it wants to see. I think I'm being reasonable and making reasonable comments, others seem to disagree seeing as I'm being called names in comments. But that's fine

I was looking back at the minor team managed by Adrian dockery that beat Galway and drew with Roscommon in 2022 this is the same minor team that are u20 now .

Shaun Sheridan the goalkeeper for glencar,
Eoghan Moyles dromahair
Eoghan Duignan Mohill
To name a few that are not on panels at the moment ….. I'm open to correction.

All talented footballers ,

Side note I watched Sheridan play for ATU Donegal first year team against Ulster University a while back an extremely talented goalkeeper he was man of the match that day, where are these lads? Is there a big drop off up through underage squads in Leitrim ?

I'm living in Donegal for years now so I wouldn't be update on everything Leitrim GAA.

Eoghan Duignan was on the panel but left in recent weeks.

I see our minor team lost to what was practically Roscommons second string. What's going on at all?

we are at a low ebb at all levels unfortunately. Don't think i will tune into Saturdays game, unless Mayo take pity and rest a few of their key players.

Unfortunately ì agree. Record defeat was by 24 points to Mayo in 2021 and again to Mayo I think in the 70s too. Looking like Saturday will be a massacre Unfortunately. Any word whether Barry McNulty and few other injured players will be available? Be great to have a look at the new pitch in Pairc Sean but that's as good as the day will get for us.

To keep it under 20 will be a good day. Armagh put 27 on us on 2013...

I do not think there is any merit beating that drum anymore. if the rules say they cannot play Saturday if they play tomorrow then so be it, I think they should play at their level because i doubt if them playing will affect the eventual result on Saturday, as much as an addition they will be. cannot wait for mgmt's sorry excuses Saturday evening.

No rules preventing it, just questions on managing lad's loads & prep time. The lockout for u20s/senior was switched from the old 7-day rolling window to the current 60-hour lockout so games like this wouldn't be a problem.

As long as the 20s games are played on a Wednesday, no issue with any of the lads playing Senior Championship again at the weekend (& no lockout at all in place for Senior League games).
