I thought there was a misprint of the score when I first seen it. Have we any defenders at all? We may forget about 2025, it's gone already.

Hardly Poachers fault. Sure if only we were serious about football!!! That was worse to watch than the league final. No direction at all and we were dominated in every position. Definitely nothing the management could have done about that. Let's get behind them sure Poacher is finally a manager with pedigree and a good track record. He will be ran out of Leitrim just like he was out of Roscommon and rightly so. Shane Quinn added to the list of players gone from the panel this week. If he keeps it up we won't have any players left.

You don't want to know.

Leitrim hurlers march on with a terrific victory over neighbours Longford at the hurling fortress of Glennon Bros Pearse Park. I heard on the wireless that the big ball encounter against Laois wasn't going so well at half time…
We need to get behind the hurlers altogether - we can all remember the success Kilkenny enjoyed when they concentrated more on hurling rather than trying to cope with both codes.

That result performance by Leitrim highlights why Andy Moran jumped ship and Graham soon after.

Not saying Poacher and his management are blameless by any means but if you think running them will solve all our problems if only it was that easy. Our problems run much deeper than that. I fear for us in every game now

Andy Moran in fairness did a mighty job there. I know, well only from posts here, that supporters felt his mgmt team cost a lot, but they got some great results. Like Andy you can be sure Stephen has his eye on a bigger job later on, but it is going to be so hard for lower division teams V others under the new rules. We could see margin of defeat records broken in all 4 provinces this year. Clare, Tipp and Waterford are all on one side of the draw in Munster.

Thanks for your input, but they obviously do want to know when they have messaged about it.

Congrats on the white faced sheep btw.

Ah Jesus lads let's be clear on this, we have lost a ridiculous amount of players and that is solely down to management an no one else. I can understand some players stepping away but when are we going to ask the reason why the amount that have stepped away this year? Let's not beat around the bush with the article that Leitrim need to become more serious about football nonsense. Highly insulting to the likes of Donal Wrynn who has dedicated so many years to Leitrim football.

Moran had a far strong panel available to him and if he did such a might job then why did so many opt out? Judging any manager with any team is leaving the team in a better place from which they took over.

And people will give the manager and his vastly over the top back room team a pass because they have lost players. Laois has lost players too. Laois could have won by 40 points today if they really wanted to.

Poacher will not get any big jobs, he got some results with Carlow playing the most negative style of football in the country at the time. What has he done since? How did he do with Down U20's? His one year coaching with Roscommon? Didn't see the year out there.

I've no issue losing but it's how you lose, team can still get a performance or have a purple patch in games but it hasn't been there over the 2 games. Taking off the 2 young backs in the backline but losing the game in the middle.

A joke shop

Poacher is 100% right on that BTW. Donal Wrynn was not fit enough to play county football for years.

Not necessarily down to management a few maybe but Laois have lost a similar amount of players from when we played them last year also. Let's just say it as it is, Leitrim football is pathetic has been for years. We haven't been competitive really since Dessie was in charge. Mayo bet us by a point that year in championship and then lost the All Ireland, but look at the panel/team today, you'd pick 15 lads not on the panel that would beat them easy. That's not down to the lads committing there doing everything and alot of them prob there for the gear and for tinder profiles. They've missed out on proper coaching coming up and s and c and its been that way for years. Said it before and sure I'll say it again Stop wasting money on the senior team there to for gone to see any benefits pump money into underage with the proper structures and we will keep what we so. But all the crack going on at Camnty Board Meetings last week or so, they don't value the club teams at all so can hardly expect them to care about proper structures for developing players

in fairness to Donal he was a passenger in most games the last few years, played in every line of the pitch to try and accommodate him. his time was up.

on todays performance, there's lads playing today that would struggle to make some club senior teams(even in Leitrim) let alone county teams. we have to be realistic and honest about the quality of players we have, or don't have. Poacher isn't to blame. it doesn't matter who manages us at this point in time.

on another note, i hope Jordan Reynolds is ok and back soon.

Worth reminding Coach Moran fans that Leitrim lost by 14pts to Laois in last year's div 4 final

I'm an optimist. I think Poacher is the right man for the job. I agree with him trying to bring through a young panel. I think beatings like today are inevitable for them and they will continue, this year is a write off. I believe that the panel we had around and got us promoted , that could have been playing today are ok but limited. They offer nothing long term, their football education was limited and so are they.

Alex Ferguson took 4 years to win a trophy at Utd and 7 years to win a league- it takes time to install standards.

We have an exceptional minor team and under 20 team - this is the future. We must have the youngest panel in the country.

Poacher has gone with the idea of bring the good under 20 footballers onto the senior set up now and stick with them. Yes - they are doomed to fail - at the start. But stick with it and I believe it will bear fruit. They are outstanding young men who are currently meeting on the field men 10 years their senior with 20 years plus S+C behind them and being blown away.

It's bound to happen. Stick with them, stick with Poacher because it may be a 5-6 year project. But if the underage keeps producing footballers like is coming through now. And they commit then that is the path to success, not going to play the team that got promoted and opted out.

The current extremely young panel are doomed to fail for now but it will turn around.
