No one least of all me said or is saying that a change wasn't needed. But we cannot say in the slightest that Colm's first year has been a success. We were relegated to the B championship. Now we did get something from it. A place in this years championship. But I don't want to use that place I want us to qualify in our own right. Colm has used his get out of jail card. I said it before he has a clean slate to hold his hands up and say I made a balls up last year. It's all about the league and promotion. Nothing else matters. Any self respecting Meath man still has nightmares about limerick and Kildare last year. We need to put that right. I thought grey was on the panel. Coffee and lynch were both on panel. That is not the team or the match day program. The panel of 40 is what I am talking about. If I'm wrong on grey then fair enough. But the others I mentioned were on the PANEL. as I seen both lynch and coffee play in a challenge match under previous set up. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 11/01/2024 18:42:44 2519684 Link 0 |
You said got the better of them or at least matched them. If you feel losing to Dublin by 4 points is somehow matching them well good for you. And if you were at that game you'd know that we in no way matched them. They were way better we never ever looked like winning and we went down with a whimper.. But keep digging lad. We'll see tomorrow if you are right about COR really wanting to win the OB Cup because then he can say he's won another trophy. Let's see the team he puts out because from what I'm hearing he won't be exactly stacking the deck to make sure we win the game. Heard something about a challenge game against Galway happening this week? Anyone know if there's any truth. LoyalRoyal (None) - Posts: 464 - 11/01/2024 20:06:19 2519694 Link 0 |

Judging by the team COR has picked for tonight he's not going all out to win silverware like you claimed he would be and is not one bit bothered if we win the OB cup or not. You're on the ball again fella. Blackspot09 (Meath) - Posts: 1012 - 12/01/2024 09:29:52 2519744 Link 4 |
Allegedly a bigger game tomorrow with a challenge against Galway planned. Keeping player for that..

Yep. That looks like the plan. Not bothered about winning the OB cup and rightly so. Galway will be a much better game for the first team if thats what they are called. Blackspot09 (Meath) - Posts: 1012 - 12/01/2024 10:40:45 2519773 Link 3 |

Agh Ash, 2024 and you're still claiming there's lads not getting a chance. 2 O'Byrne cup matches, multiple challenge games before and after Christmas. 60-70 lads getting a chance to impress Colm and his selectors. But yet there's lads not getting a chance. Cmon now… give us the names… who are all these undiscovered gems the Colm hasn't clapped eyes on… where's our David Clifford just waiting for that phone call… if only the phone would ring…

Anyone understand why cor would give out about sigerson after the louth game when he is essentially forfieting the semi final of the ob cup...like why play them last week if he didnt care if they won or not? Ed2010 (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 12/01/2024 12:48:06 2519816 Link 1 |
Great to see James Conlon back. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 12/01/2024 12:57:08 2519817 Link 0 |
Back? He's number 21 on the B squad.

Since he hasn't been involved at all with Meath in almost 2 years. It's great to see him back. Is that difficult to understand? He's back on panel. And I'm sure will play a part tonight and will continue to prove his worth going forward.

He wanted to get our near strongest team playing together in preparation for the first league game. He knew we'd lose loads of lads to Sigerson over the next couple Of weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's an excellent club player and a brilliant scorer. I just think he's a really long way down pecking order and it's unlikely he will feature in first team.

Last year in a post 'brian' put to bed the notion that O'Rourke hadn't got together a new team last year. https://hoganstand.com/County/Meath/Forum/Details/111870?County=Meath&PageNumber=16&TopicID=111870 bdbuddah (Meath) - Posts: 1402 - 12/01/2024 15:16:18 2519864 Link 5 |
Pretty much a B/C team. Hopefully we can win it as I'd love a crack at potentially the Dubs in a final LeitrimRoyal99 (Meath) - Posts: 1527 - 12/01/2024 15:18:04 2519865 Link 0 |
Likely only ones to be seen later would be hogan and O'Connor. Maybe banty.

Indeed particularly when it's Longford that will be opposing team in Leinster. So I'm interested to see how they set up. They haven't transferred their club progress into county.
