Replying To Greenfield:  "Don't think it's just this match that's low key. Was talking with people from a few places in work and they didn't even know the championship was starting. The level of disinterest in this thing is amazing.

A few years ago the media would have bigging up a trip down the country as a possible banana skin for Dublin but they don't even pretend anymore.

Inter county football has one good competition - the league. This rubbish for the next 3 months is just killing time until the clubs can get going."
Seems to be a bit of an anti climax to whats normally an exciting time of the year.

I do think it'll pick up as the group stages come around.

I have been told that ronan jones is not playing today due to injury and the great keith curtis is starting, I would have Aaron lynch or moriarty in ahead of him, my guess would be McGowan to midfield and cillian osullivan to 10 and Curtis inside

Jones will be a big loss today if unavailable, was the only player in my opinion who showed a bit of fight against the dubs in Navan and let them know he didn't like the drubbing we were getting.

This is a game I just hope we can win as I would like the bragging rights for the year in our parish.

Two evenly matched teams who both find it hard to surpass on average 14 points a game.

Think it will come down to whoever takes the goal chances when they arrive.

I think we should have just about have enough to win this one but it will be a scrap.

Lastly best of luck to the lads especially my Neighbour young Sean Coffey who makes his debut.

Up Meath

Huge loss if that is the case

Absolutely shocking stuff going on out there, as bad as I can remember and the worst first half I've seen of Meath in a long long time.. No disrespect to Offaly, but they are a team who barely survived division 3 and we're being absolutely mauled by them, and that's putting it lightly. How are we so far off the pace? I don't understand.

Whatever about the management, those players are simply not good enough. We can't score, we have division 4 standard forward. We must have one of the worst forward lines in the country and I wish I was joking. We just can't string anything together, and we do get a chance, we can't convert. Laois managed to score more against Dublin this afternoon in the worst half than we did against Offaly..

We can't win the ball at midfield, we lose every breaking ball, our defence just opens up when anyone runs at them. The space Offaly had so far today has been mind boggling. Just demoralising stuff. This has been going on all throughout the league, so feeble performance after feeble. No signs of improvement. We haven't a hope in the Tailteann Cup either, but that's our level now.

It's April and you can already draw a line through the season. We're 15 players short of having a decent team.. Shocking.

That was some first half.
There was absolutely no system or shape or method to anything they done.

Worst I have ever seen. With each match we getting worse and worse. Unless a huge turnaround in next 35 minutes I don't know where we go from here.

Is this the new low? Feels a lot worse than Limerick did.

Don't think it's even worth talking about, it just gets worse and worse but today is an all time low. We'd make even the best of managers in the country look terrible the players just are not there

I'm surprised with the comments thus far since final whistle.

Just because we are Meath it does not give us the right to think we should be beating a team like Offaly who are a Division 3 team and lets be honest that's what we are too, we were extremely lucky to stay up this year.

Hate singling out individuals however I cannot fathom how COR is still persevering with JM and DL in the full forward line, they have got so many chances and they are simply not good enough for county football. Time to draw a line in the sand and bring in a few new forwards and give them a chance. There is plenty of lads in my opinion who are better and deserve a chance now in the Tailteann Cup.

One point from our full forward line is shambolic and it has been the case for most of the league campaign.

Thank God we got rid of all those soft townies from Dunboyne, Ratoath and Ashbourne and brought in that North Meath steel we've been missing! O'Rourke is for the gate, excuse after excuse!

Some of the players are simply just not good enough.
Get rid of them and try some new faces!! How many chances have some of those lads gotten.
Very frustrating but I just think if we are going to rebuild then properly REBUILD.

Up there with Limerick and Westmeath losses. I don't know what to say. All I know is we can't endure another 12 months of this. Colm was my hero when I was growing up, I was worried about him been appointed manager I'll be honest. But even today I had hoped that he had learned on the job and we would see some sort of backlash from the past 5 games. I know Colm is a decent honourable man and when the year is finished I'm sure he will say it hasn't worked out so I'll move on. Otherwise I believe it is up to cb and clubs to say thank you for all ur efforts some things just weren't meant to be. Cause there is no way we should keep the current management for next year. Thank you Colm for putting ur time and effort into this. You owe us nothing , and you will always be regarded as legend in Meath. But it's time to admit this isn't working out
