Meath 20'S

Best of luck to the lads tonight, it's a big night for them and no doubt will feel the pressure. Will take a very good performance to win tonight with the absence of O'Hallaron, Commons and McWeeney who was just coming back into it. Kildare are no world beaters either and hopefully the lads come away with a win!

What a performance!! From 1-15 everyone played well and the bench had an impact, and we avoid dublin in the Leinster final. Hon da Royal!!

Hats off to everyone involved tonight from players to the management to back room team. Unbelievable performance and great to see an U20 team we all expected so much from to go out and deliver, the transition from minor to U20 has been brilliant and a lot of young lads too. Well done all and roll on the Leinster final!

An excellent win and a really controlled performance. A couple of times late in the game we managed to hold the ball for at least 90 seconds and still end up kicking a score or getting a good shot off which has been a huge Achilles heel of Meath teams at 20's and senior. McWeeney will be back for the final which adds to the bench. Hopefully Commons might be able to play although with the game in 6 days it would be doubtful. Louth are by no means a gimmie, the bookies have it the same odds as the Kildare game with us marginal favourites. It's a huge chance and I trust this management team to guard against any complacency. Hopefully a good Meath crowd will be there as I'd imagine a good Louth crowd will travel

Congrats on the win last night. Big chance now to win Leinster...

Just a quick question - how many of the starting All Ireland winning Minor team started last night.?
I know you were missing a coupe through injury etc, but is it largely the same team.?

On a side note - O'Bric is doing a fine job and could get promoted to the Senior team in a couple of years imo, when the COR tenure runs it scheduled course.

Commons looking to be out on the sidelines for 3-4 months due to a knee injury in the previous game Vs Laois, while o Halloran a month or two.

9 of the starting team last night started the minor plus Sean Emmanuel off the bench. Then Rian McConnell was on the panel but didn't play as much at minor as he is now

That is excellent retention in fairness. That is exactly what is needed.
Clearly something is working.

I dont think Louth will beat Meath in the Leinster Final tbh.
Should be an excellent game.

Think COB is also involved with development squad, together with his great work with u20s he is without doubt a good option for senior management when time comes. Maybe there is a succession plan already in place. Seems to know the game inside out and comes across very well. Well done to the u20's last night great to be back in final.

The leading candidate imo.

Dont go for BF - all about him, and it would end badly and put ye back a few years.
Just my opinion - loves the limelight and a bit of a spoofer. Defo not up to Inter County Mgt.

COB on the other hand.... a really good option, when the time is right.

A good group of young players with the impressive quality of being able to win ugly and pull performances out of the bag in games where they struggle at times. So impressed with Armstrong, not a completely polished player but the raw athleticism, drive, and desire he plays with is great to watch. Depth is good with important players missing out vs Kildare but the likes of Hughie coming in and doing well. Jamie Murphy is a pure scorer and has been a real find. Defensively some absolute old school no nonsense players like Kelly and O'Hare… fantastic! Would love to see this team win Leinster and see where that takes them.

Can't wait for the final on Monday but the Louth team we're facing pushed this side all the way in Leinster at minor level in 2021 and have their own host of future stars. Sean Reynolds, Sean Callaghan, Tadhg McDonnell and Kieran McArdle will cause big problems. I still expect us to get the job done in what I hope is an absolute cracker of a game!

Pound for pound the biggest game in Meath football history history since the last u21 Leinster final i think 2015 so 9 years. Monday nights result could send us in one of two directions, it's a fork on the road . A famine will be ended for one county 23 years for Meath 43 years for Louth . Crazy when you think of how big a game this is. I think we might See near full house 8,000 people at this

All that can be said is the very best of luck to everyone involved tonight. I am hopeful of a win tonight but by no easy means at all. This is a fantastic louth team who ran Meath to the wire back in 2022 minor championship. Really hope also that there's a massive support for these lads in Parnell Park tonight as I've no doubt everyone from Louth will be there tonight so hope we bring the same and really get behind them. All in all, no matter the result its progress in the right direction, the win would make it even greater. Best of luck lads!
