Swap Hickey for Toner! Far better footballer in my opinion.

wouldn't disagree with the names, but would need to look at the half forward line , lack of height is an issue, and a fit ethan devine then becomes someone to consider simply because of his size.

I get what your saying but not sure you can consider someone simply because of their size. Needs to be more to it than that.

Lads anyone not including Ronan Ryan is deluding themselves. The lad is our CB. I watched the game and he rarely if ever moved from in front of the D. This is what he does and does it well. brian (Meath) - Posts: 1973 - 27/10/2020 14:31:44 2302045 Link 12 |
I was probably being a bit hasty , just to get the point across about Andy's, Fino , & Donals job being to balance out the names a bit more. The main point i agree with , which is that coming into this campagn, we seem to have a deeper squad (apart form keeper problem) than ,maybe heretofore. On Devine. On both his club form from 2019 & his county contribution in 2019 l, i would have no hesitation in nominating him for a starting position at 10 or 12....but the real worry was those 30 minutes against Dublin....on one occasion every dub bared cluxton passed him on his way back to our own goal. Now I suspect there is something off with him, but im hoping its only temporary...other than that young costelloe , has the attributes im suggesting - except the experience

I agree. I think devine has shown enough over the last couple of years to be considered for a starting spot. He did struggle v Dublin but as you said that happens sometimes and maybe just found the going tough first game back. Some lads can just slip back into it easily and some take a bit longer. Similar with McGill and Lavin on Sunday. Thought they both looked a yard off it and both looked jaded early in the second half but I've no doubt that game will bring them on massively and they'll be at full tilt come wexford or Wicklow.

Looked to me like the Monaghan full forwards were getting ball out in front of them quite easily on numerous occasions. I don't know if we had a designated player who was supposed to be doing that job be it ryan hickey McEntee but i wouldnt have said it was done very well on sunday to be honest.

No actually I didn't. I assumed due to him been concussed that he won't train for ten days and imo wouldn't be fit enough to start. That been said If it was a choice between him and Morris, might be controversial to say but I'd take Morris.

Was tried in plenty of positions. And correct me if I'm wrong here. Didn't he walk away from panel??

Think Morris has done enough to be included in starting. Apart from that I agree if everyone fit.

He did but he's back now and seems like bridges have been built. This is a united squad and one which is close and rowing together. This isn't in response to you RD but to everybody out there. Despite talk of nepotism, North Meath vs South Meath opportunities, no Kells lads. This squad is cohesive and together and I think they are a better critic of anything management does than anybody on this forum is

I think the friction that was there is gone, It's a very United unit probably The most united in years. And that is showing on the field too.

On another note , congratulations to Jordan Morris on making the team of the week. It should have included Jones too, royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 27/10/2020 17:52:12 2302173 Link 0 |
Thats my point trying him in positions bar centre back.his preferred spot looking from club form.yes he walked away born from frustration id say.
